Next year is looking great.

All I can say is the upcoming changes are phenomenal. It seems like they're finally listening to the fact no one wants one-sided snowball games. And basically giving us back the way old runes functioned? Knock on wood, but it's looking like 2019 is going to be the best yet.

I'm not fond of the minion buff. Now it will be even easier for the enemy team to secure a baron when ahead and make it less likely for you to come back while pinned down. It seems like Riot is trying to go for win more and aggression, since the plating rewards the team that pushes to tower and punishes the one behind. Generally when you are pushed to tower you can't really afford last hits.

While it does say the goal is to aid in closeouts, the buff is to minions over time. Meaning you'll also more often be able to turn a game around from a good late game teamfight, along with being able to push a lead.

It'll be just as punishing to teams in the lead who screw up as it will be beneficial to teams in the lead who play it well.

The "over time" starts 10 mins earlier now.

Not really. These new changes favor the opponents who are ahead. From what I see these changes actually make it harder to comeback.

As I said, the plating rewards those who dominate the lane thereby enhancing an advantage. An increase in speed means it's harder for the losing team to defend and makes a baron buff especially deadly.

It's more of a wait and see sort of thing but I think this will make the game worse.

It all looks like a good start to restoring league to a more enjoyable experience for everyone. But I do wish item balances would have been a key component in the preseason updates as those are definitely needed.

I too missed that as soon as runes were reforged.

But why are you saying it now? The way they're changing the runes, we might get to do that again.

I do think the overall changes will be a net positive for the game, but I also think walking back some of the changes they've done this season would help as well. I'm not sure if better turrets and shutdown gold against farmers will bring back enchanters, tanks, immobile mids, non-duelist junglers, crit ADCs, etc. The game will be better, but they really need to try and bring characters in the aforementioned classes into at least a decent enough place I don't feel like I'm literally trying to lose when I pick them. In fact, I think a lot of these scaling characters will vanish even further from the game because going aggro and trying to smash your tower is incentivized super hard.

I really think the most important aspect is the pseudo-return of the old runes. But since they won't be set every game before you choose, you'll be able to do things that only work on specific champions, like all AS or all Armor.
