Absolutely, and none of this changes the fact that he has an atrocious laning phase. Top fizz is a tank buster. Can be abused early by everyone except melee tanks, which is the one archetype he can beat early. Even off tanks can punish him in laning.

He doesn't need nerfs, unless you mean tank Fizz. AP Fizz is perfectly balanced.

to be gutted/nerfed into oblivion...?

I mean, gotta make sure you are fair and even when it comes to gutting assassin and assassin-like champions because of their "insane burst and no counterplay" mechanics.

If I wasn't clear enough with my sarcasm,

tank/bruiser fizz is truly the best viable build path for fizz right now because everything else on his kit has been nerfed into the ground.

on-hit Q, nerfed. E cool down, nerfed. Ult damage, nerfed.

Then you get items like the new GA, etc, and no one's killable anymore.

The ONLY reason fizz is seeing a comeback is because he can build somewhat tanky and still deal damage.

Why doesn't Riot just come out and admit they want to enforce the META GAME, and want to gut creative, viable off-meta builds like tank/bruiser fizz, because it offends the META GAME? Just come out and say you want every single champion you make to be played ONLY a certain way with certain items and in certain lanes.

Come out Riot, and admit you just want to pigeon-hole champs like Fizz into "mid ap mage burst asssassin" and don't want him played ANYWHERE else with ANY other items other than straight AP damage.

There's nothing wrong with abusing items.

I tend to abuse Blade of the Ruined King or Bloodthirster a lot on Lulu. ;)
