Regarding the PBE Smite changes and Heimerdinger

Information: Smite now has 2 stacks on PBE. Furthermore Smite-Upgrade items are extremely cost efficient for their slots.

With the Smite changes Heimerdinger becomes near useless. He already has a tough spot this days, considering that his Q has 24s CD, his W 11s and his E 18s. His turrets already are 1 hit killed by any common midlaner with a 4s CD spell if your enemy gets a single kill ahead. Furthermore Azir was introduced who beats Heimer without a chance to fight back (INVINCIBLE UNITS, higher range AND lower cooldown).

Now that Smite has become viable even on laners Heimerdinger is a facing a death-sentence.

Heimerdinger does have to get a compensation to remain viable. While it's true that Heimerdinger's turrets THEORETICALLY can remain alive forever (however they cna only attack when Heimer is near, else they're free gold) they instantly blwo up in teamfights. Making them horribly inferior to Azir's units.

Suggestion:

  • Make Heimerdinger's turrets unsmiteable
  • Change their health to a Zyraish stack system
  • Reduce the cooldown to be more fair considering recently released champions like Azir

Honestly, I think azir is very OP, his units being untargetable may be the reason. I couldn't understand the latest buff, azir seems to be incredibly strong and safe at the same time. Maybe he's a sleeper though, and we'll see him get taken a lot when competitive play resumes.

That said, I think heimer turrets should have a ward-like health system, 3 hits to kill (obviously can do very fast on anyone with a combo).

Bump for truths. Just 1 item item 3713 should not counter a whole champion for the rest of the game.

There are people that make dinger feel pathetic and useless. But, then there's an even larger roster that might as well not even be in the lane vs him, because they won't be able to cs period.

Name me one popular midlaner who does.

Please, do not reduce his cooldowns. If you ever played vs him as a single target or melee, you'll know how horrible that is. He literally freely pushes the lane while sitting in his turret nest, and unless you DO have that low cooldown high damage spell, you spend the entire laning trying to stay even and not get poked out by his constant damage.

? Which single target mages has issues with him? Syndra: Once you get a single kill you 1HKO his turrets. Even if you dont you can kill them with 1AA +Q at 1/6th of his cooldown.

Karthus? Turret? LOL! Free money.

Talon? nPress R to kill all turrets and take 3/4th of Heimerdinger's horribly low base health.

Yasuo? Trololol Windwall vs Heimerdingers ultimate. And item 3087 >>> turrets

Not mages (mages specifically focus on having AoE damage; hence why I said single target or melee), but any form of all in assassin and most melees barely exist vs him. Try playing, say, Nidalee vs him; your entire laning phase changes from landing your skillshots to jump in and harass to farming at turret while hoping you land enough spears in a row to push him out or get him low enough to fully kill and escape his turrets. Try playing Singed, or Renekton, or any melee. Your entire laning phase is literally sitting at turret farming, slowly being pushed out because there's nothing you can do vs him.

Currently, heimerdinger is really strong vs those champions (making them stuck at turret and almost useless for the first 15 minutes) and weaker against longer ranged mages/adcs/assassins with long range poke. Buffing his cooldowns makes him slightly better vs longer ranged and even more overbearing vs single target or melees (yay, you killed one of his turrets! Now he has another one placed and one more stocked up).

?? Especially Nidalee clears hit turrets with ease. She can 1 HKO them with spears easily. Spears have 1/3rd of their cooldown.

Heimer tries to rocket or E you? R+W, Grats, Heimer just wasted a big chunk of his mana.

As for Renekton: Dash through a creep hit Q a turret, dash to the next one. Not to mention that once he hits levels 6 his randim AoE kills the turrets while he wrecks Heimer.

And Singed: Simply proxy from level 1. There is nothign Heimer can do to defend you. (Plus. considering how insane Singed it's lategame it'ld be plain stupid if he domintaed each and everybody in lane)

P.S. "Yay he just placed another one". Heimer starts with only 1 turret available. This turret has 24 CD and dies within 1 spell / 2 AAs. If you don't manage to kill it within a fifth of it'S cooldown you're definitely doing something horribly wrong.

Can someone provide logs of Heimerdinger being played on PBE vs the two smite combo to see if it even makes him blink?

As a jungler I had to SAVE my smite to go to mid lane against Heimer, the two smites will allow me to smite a jungle buff and then have another smite ready to go mid.

Is it a huge deal? You'll still only be able to smite 1 turret every 60 seconds, it's just that you can save up for two now.

If double-smiting is an issue (take out two turrets instantly, or double-smite your ultimate turret) all that's needed is a 5-10s cooldown between smite charge uses.

Any chance this is the case? That'd fix double-smiting a dragon or player too, which can lead to cheese and would probably result in players saving both smites anyway. If not it may be that, as far as dragon/baron control and anti-player smiting is concerned all this change would do is double the damage and cooldown on smite.

It is a huge deal since whenever you roam your enemy will have up 2 stacks.

In teamfights even worse - since their jungler has smite as well!

Your ultimate and your normal turrets die within an instant.

Considering that Heimerdinger's turret also have 24s CD this is just unfair. Whenever you go back to base your opponent can instanly clear 2 turrets.

summoner 3 > all

Plus: Check the cooldowns. And in case you're on the PBE also note which of these can be used twice in a row.
