Tank mage build
Which two be better for a mage?
Warmog's heart
Spirit Visage
Thornmail
I say two because I still need room for AP Items, the mage I play is Syndra if that helps ;~;

What are you fighting that warrants so much defense?

So I don't die right away from lux's combo, xerath and jhin's ult, and that I don't die so easily when someone gets past the tank in a teamfight.
If thats the case I'd find a way to work
and/or
into your build. Are they already something you build?

yea, but it doesn't do much when the enemy focuses on taking you out first.
Are you having trouble positioning for fights then? Something I've always had difficulty with is finding good places to stay safe with softer characters. One strategy that's given me a fair bit of success has been to work up movespeed items and find ways to keep attacking at great distances to stay out of trouble. Something like
and MS Quints lets you be a bit more selective with your attacks. Find a spot for a
and soft targets start taking alot of damage when the luden's splash catches them. Aside from that a
is always a good pick up. Wait to use it until you start seeing a group of 2-3 enemies and judge where to drop it based on how things move. As a rule, if you dont have the ability to ward 1/4 or more of the potential combat zone by yourself then bail on the fight and ping your frontline to let them know your not comfortable with the location.
Frankly, Syndra works better if you go full AP and just delete them before they can kill you.
Real talk Syndra is a full damage glass cannon champion so idk about getting defenses.
Of the items you've mentioned I could see
being acceptable, but not
If you're making use of the passive you're too close to your enemies. At least with the other two don't have passives which would be useless for you.
That said, I've seen people at syndra mains on reddit legimately use
as a situational defensive item, due to the fact that Syndra can benefit a lot from CDR. And mana, since she's mana hungry, yet does not synergize well with a tear. (Or apparently so)
Oh, I did what you guys said....The tanks in most rounds are scared of me now because one move does 1/4 of their health lmao I can't die if they're already dead
Cool, glad to hear things are turning up for you
Probably spirit visage so you don't get bursted, plus the cdr. I'd also recommend rod of ages as your first item
I'd really have trouble seeing any of those items really working unless your playing Vlad, or Swain. You wouldn't be able to dish out your APC levels of damage needed.
Really you should be tentative enough about your positioning to not let the enemy jump you before the tank get their chance to peel/engage.
Or, you could play a Utility APC like Lulu or Karma, And be able to give yourself a massive shield whenever you need it.

Arch angels only offers 3% of maximum mana. 3% of the 400 from frozen heart is 12 AP. Which isn't significant.
The only way that works is on a champion who's kit, scales with mana. (Ryze or Singed)
