I wish Mordekaiser doesn't get a VGU

I can see some changes that are needed but if he gets a vgu he will be galio'ed and no longer be the same

Bot lane mordekaiser is: -fun, you literally destroy anything on your sight -strong, i'm playing right now with Malicious Metal in duo in rankeds and we're in top 900 EUW (which is the equivalent of high diamond 1/master tier) we play against people that were master tier/challenger last season and just casually destroy them

there is literally no reasons to VGU Morde except the visual but champions like twitch got a visual update without a kit update

the VGU is going to turn him into a toplaner from there he won't be the same hardcarry that he is now

he's going to be turned into a discount offtank that soak a bit of damage while literally not doing anything else except splitpushing and if he does he's going to get nerfed, we already saw this happening with Darius Yorick

I don't know who's working on Mordekaiser It might even be CertainlyT since he went back to the vgu team and is working on a champion

But please keep the possibility to play Bot lane Morde because it is impossible to be as relevant as marksmen while being a melee toplaner unless you're overpowered or you're 10/0

please do not ruin the last competitive melee champion that you can hard carry with in master/challenger

Mordekaiser IS going to get a VGU but I really hope Riot is going to be creative and give Bot lane Morde another go.

Or just balance him as a flex carry pick that can go Mid and Bot since there has been talk about letting mages go bot.

Morde mains play this champion because they want to carry. He's a very selfish character that wants to be the backbone of a team and their main damage pump. Most Mordekaiser mains I know do adore the heavy damage playstyle that's supported by Iron Man and a Duo lane adds a new layer of counterplay/outplay to his champion dynamic and offers so many more interesting matches.

Oh boy...

I have to disagree with OP. Morde looks extremely outdated and should receive at least a VU. His movements and actions need an upgrade. His cape is just awful.

Nope. The only way you make him viable is cheese strats with hook champs bot lane.

Try "hard carrying" to challenger without thresh/blitz/naut and you might have a reason for him to not get a VGU.

Acutally, any engage tank works, if both, you and your support know what they are doing. The main thing here is to know which support to use for different scenarios. And, no, it's not cheese, he's meant to go bot and does it pretty well. I agree, please just give him a visual update and leave his kit alone. Maybe just a small buff to either MS or resistances.

The initial Morde after the VGU was a complete monstrosity, but, since then, they've done a fine job adjusting him and he's fine now tbh. If they wanna update him they only need to do visuals imo.

he didn't get a VGU he got a simple rework

the rework kept his old identity and kept his old kit while giving him more counterplay since all of his damage got delayed

But the rework made him going bot lane, and riot wants to VGU him to make him a top laner

A visual update is all he should need. Looking back on Taric for examples I'm hyped to see how Dragon Knight and Infernal will turn out.

I still think that "Mordekaiser gains extra XP from minion kills near allies" passive is a rather clunky solution to the "make Morde viable botlane" thing, especially when he already has Dragon Force as an incentive for that.

Something like that being a unique passive on a melee-only starter item might work, though, because at least then it opens the potential for more melees botlane rather than just trying to brute-force Morde into the role.

i say it, i know morde requieres changes

but i don't want him to be changed because he will get a rework that makes him no longer the same and i don't want that

he's really good as he is (with some changes that should be done) but the VGU team will 180° him...

I think he's more suited to a mini-rework than a full VGU. An idea I was throwing around is if they added grounded effect to his Q -- lets him keep enemies in place without directly give him any "real" cc.

I agree though, I really like what he's doing bot. Just wish I could find someone to duo with.
