For those Caitlyn haters out there asking what's with the AS on her passive

I sometimes seriously think nobody even knows what her actual base AS is, considering how much bot lane i play i to hate Caitlyn and wish no good upon her mains But removing the AS on her passive has to be one of the worst nerf ideas i have seen on the boards, for those who aren't aware CAITLYN HAS A BASE ATTACK SPEED OF 0.568, riot did this in the marksmen update and to compensate they gave her bonus AS on her passive although you might say "so it's pointless?" well no, it means that attack speed scales less with her

Again, the issue is, you haven't read it.

Hes not a cait "defender".

He's just talking about how removing her bonus AS would be a bad way to nerf her, since it compensates for her low base AS.

There are better ways to nerf her.

Isn't her base AS low,because she has the highest base attack range and also the highest range overall with her passive?

I'm not saying to nerf her AS or anything,but you really need a better argument for your opinion.

You're correct, but this post is to specifically state why she HAS A BONUS AS BUFF ON HER PASSIVE, i'm not granting my opinion, not saying she should be left alone, not saying she needs to be nerfed I'm only informing the less informed

That's should have been the point in my first post. Not all ADCs have fast AAs.The AS is not essential part of her kit.Her AS-buff is a part of her kit that RIOT added in order for her not to fall of compared to other ADCs. Again,the buff doesn't make up for her low AS,her range/s do.You have stated she needs it,because she has low base AS,but in reality that's just an excess.

Cutting of her buff,while myb buffing her AD rations could be a good solution.

Again,I'm not saying to which part of her to nerf,but that the buff's primary purpose isn't to make up for low base AS.

Nope, the base AS was reduced so she's more like a sniper, low fire rate but high impact shots. The lower base AS and thus AA-dps theoretically frees up power for a stronger headshot. Also, since it means she's scaleing worse with AS, the idea was that she'd focus more on AD, staying truer to the sniper fantasy. (that's the reasoning that riot stated on the update)

However, reallity looks a bit different as cait still goes double zeal items because her overtuned headshot scales well with AS and crit, while her Q and R both are pretty lackluster compared to her headshots, so no one bothers itemizeing like a caster(ER rush).

Also, for the as boost on her passive: with that bonus as + her low base as, she just reaches her old base AS at rank 1, takeing that away would force her to use full AS runes or CSing would be nearly impossible.

Nah, removeing it would make her feel horrible early in the game, or change hardly anything if she compensates with runes. If you just want to lower her earlygame power, reduceing some base damage on some skill or her base ad would be just as effective without makeing her feel clunky as fuck.

Her headshot and traps need to be adressed to free some power so her Q and R can get buffed. But overall, the issue lies more in adc-itemisation. thx to crit, AAs always hyperscale into lategame, and with her range, E and traps, she can use AAs more savely than nearly any other champ.
