Winning has long been 'tryhard' in League. I can't remember a time where it hasn't toed the line outside of what I am sure is the Tir Na Nog known as Platinum, or Diamond, or Challenger, or whatever division Boards has decided is valid enough to have access to words and opinions or whatever the fuck and where winning is finally an acceptable thing to work toward. That being said, attitude in League is fucking godawful and I am floored when people deny it. I've not see a community quite as bad and I spent much of my teen years on 4chan and vanilla WoW (Barrens chat holla-- The Crossroads is under attack)-- I've seen some shitty communities. For my experiences, League is the worst.
I won't count my five games of DotA2, because I'd rather just forget about them.
I mean, 'serious' is one thing and surely belongs to ranked. But trying to win, or rally a winning effort, should not have a backfire that isn't losing to the enemy team. And yet it does, and sometimes these people tilt out of fucking control when you say things as simple as 'Morde you might want some defense builds if you're having trouble,' launching right into inting. I've seen it happen. People lose it over whatever the hell they want in League and usually try to throw as a result. I wouldn't say it's common for me but it's a common complaint and I've certainly seen it happen enough.
But then, isn't always the fucking 2/11? It's never 7/3 who eats shit to a turret and says, "ha, norms"-- it's the guy who just a goddam trough for the enemy team to snarf goddam Mordekaiser soup out of, all while he acts like this isn't the common occurrence for him to get smeared across the lane like a fart gone wrong.
I don't mean to sound prudish or rude here but I think you might glean something from looking up threads of similar name or discussions.
TBH when I run a KDA of 1:2+ I just tell people "sorry, I'm garbo at champion, trying to learn." Self-deprecation has never gotten me farther than in League, I'll say that for it. It's usually when people turn up with tips and help.
