Boards, mind my words, you will miss tanks being able to deal some damage

To stay balanced, for every bit of damage that is taken from them, they will need to be given tools to stop enemies from dealing damage.

So in July, when you will be standing there as Zed, wondering why you can't use R for 17 seconds, remember you asked for this.

I think will still put damage but not with reliability. More like sion.

TBH I want item 3068 changed. If I'm playing against an actual tank, like Maokai Poppy Nautilus , they just CC me and slowly burn me to death with 36 Magic Damage per second and wet noodle me with 70 physical damage auto attacks.

I know, it's going to be great. I can't wait to be an unkillable monster who just builds 40% CDR and CCs everyone until I finally run out of mana. Glorious.

I'm not exactly sure if Riot is gonna start another "Tank" meta

Ralanr2 votes

"Tank" metas are usually filled with unintended abusers of tank stats. Tank Vi, Tank Yasuo, etc (or maybe I'm biased). So in preventing those items from being as effective on squishies, we might see less of a tank meta.

It'll be one for the first two weeks because people want to try them out though.

I wish what you said was true, however I will never forget Poppy slowly chipping away my health with item 3068 item 3025 item 3065 , while me not being to escape due to her W, E, and R+item 3025 slow.

So...what she's supposed to do?

I think that when it comes to Tanks doing damage, I think Sion is what Riot should strive for. His damage is high for a tank although unreliable, and it comes in telegraphed but high bursts, and is accompanied by CC.

However, with Poppy, her damage comes from just how hard it is to get away from her, and just STANDING next to people with item 3068. I'd be fine with Poppy dealing some damage, however I think that item 3068 needs to be adjusted. It offers very little in terms of skill expression and although it is visible, many people complain about tanks dealing too much damage because the aura from this item ends up dealing upwards of 400 damage in a 2v2 skirmish.

  1. Leave sunfire alone damn it.
  2. Tanks should punish you for being unable to escape from them. Sion even does that with his W.

Sion's W is very small, so it's compensated by his Yasuo-like minion dominance E, which provides a healthy slow/knock up (knock up has a long duration) along with his Q, which does a pretty hefty amount of damage if used right.

Not to mention, that Sion W is a shield, and if he IS a tank then it's not gonna go down easily because it scales with his HP. Same kind of "punishment" from this annoying tree Maokai who has a Root and a tiny knockup and an small AOE slow (i mean AOE like it deals damage to multiple targets) that does a fair amount of damage, even when tank.

Malphite has dumb "punishment" abilities too, like an AS slow with another slow and FREE damage on auto's when you catch up to them just for landing a pretty big AOE slow and/or a point and click slow, and don't get me started on the super fast AOE knock up "nuke" (depends on what you build)

Thresh has a ranged hook(stun) engage with a small knock up positioned near him in a fat line and one of the STRONGEST SLOW'S IN THE GAME. Not to mention how he has the ability to put his ADC next to him the size of the middle part of the bot lane.

Ok, what about Poppy?

Poppy has a pretty huge range stun (not to mention her stun is a tiny bit longer than it looks. Sources: mastery 5 poppy here) that need's to be positioned though, and it's not "easy" either. Has Q that does maximum HP damage that can enable you to be basically SusanNasus and deal pretty hefty damage without building damage. Has an anti-dash W with a pretty wide range, especially in the jungle. and a knock up (not as useful as a normal knock up) when used immediately. Not to mention a ranged attack that is a buffed Corki auto attack that provides a shield depending on your health.

And where does that relate to? Sion's W.

Tank's don't have punishments, they have things to get to you that somehow make you deserve "to be punished."

Just my 2 cents bro

Sion's W can be broken easy early.

And his minion dominance is nowhere near Yasuo's.

Edit: Nasus is not a tank.

Yaśuo Main1 votes

Yasuo-like minion dominance E

Meaning that it has WAY larger range when he hits a minion with it to you which applies the same effects.

And no one is as tanky early game, to note.

Ralanr1 votes

Sion isn't very tanky early. He's actually very squishy for a tank.

Yaśuo Main1 votes

Dear god, you read everything in the wrong view.

I don't know if you are joking but, I said that in a way that NO ONE would be that tanky early game. So that applies to EVERYONE.

I'd also argue that Nasus builds mostly/ pretty much tank, so it's safe to say that he is a tank.

Ralanr1 votes

Tanky=/=Tank. Nasus is a juggernaut and is intended to deal heavy SINGLE target damage.

Yaśuo Main1 votes

Poppy is mostly single target and is somewhat heavy damage.

edit: wait sorry you were wrong the entire time, i never mentioned nasus as a tank lol

i said it was his style of damage

Ralanr1 votes

Poppy is mainly AoE with her Q and ult.

Yaśuo Main1 votes

Poppy's E is way more useful in team fights than her R and Q

also, passive

poppy isnt mainly aoe its pretty much leaning to single target

Yeah, like when cinderhulk was strong the main abusers (Sejuani Gragas ) weren't tanks, nor when top lane was tank-centric (Nautilus Malphite Maokai )

I'm confused with what you are trying to say with every part of this sentence. What does tank's damage have to do with zed ult cooldown?

Dominick Destine1 votes

I was happier back when tanks were very tanky but had low damage.

The out-of-control damage we have now is absurd and makes for a terrible game... fights end fast, games snowball too hard, I dislike this season, but at least it's way better than S6. S6 was garbo.
