Flex Queue is a Step Down from Dynamic Queu
With DQ, players were generally evenly matched with players at or near their MMR and rank, even if there were pre-made teams, the teams were, for the most part, just about even. Most times, those pre-mades were just a group of strangers who had one or two good games with each other and decided to queue up together to repeat their success only to fail eventually and go their separate ways.
But flex queue...
It's just matching players with whoever to make wait times as short as possible without any consideration of fairness for the players themselves.
You're playing the lottery with this new system and whatever effort or lack there of any individual player puts into the game seems to literally have no effect on the outcome. I can be at my worst and win a bunch of games in a row. Why? Because I struck gold with my teams who carry me. I can be at my best and lose several in a row. Why? Because I can strike out when it comes to match making, land un-ranked players versus people who finished plat or above last season.
Look, I enjoy most of the changes made to the game for the upcoming season, but Flex Queue is just plain horrible for all involved.
Maybe it's placements that put Gold and Plat with Bronze and Silver, but maybe, just maybe, placements shouldn't downgrade players from their previous ranks so severely.
Either way, match making currently sucks and it will suck even harder with the hard MMR reset. I doubt I'll be playing ranked at all for the first 3-6 months of S7 just to avoid the inevitable shit storm that will hit the rift.
