seems like a pretty good champ to me.

just don't understand why

gave him a spin and he's fantastic if you know how to manage your mana

There currently are far better options. With all the new items, he seems to have no real benefit from most of them directly, while alot of others get more benefit.

Also combined with his lack of mobility, without a team to protect him. He's gonna die to anything that looks at him funny.

um... he is a common pick for mid lane in Korea... AD, CDR and ArPen is the typical build

I am not sure why you think he is bad.

I do agree his kit is certainly weird. so okay maybe you are ignoring quite a bit of his kit to play him like that. I guess he does have some of the problems old scion did. You do sometimes get a little closer and auto attack people. He doesn't have the crit synergy ADCs mostly seem to have these days and Attack speed isn't that strong on him since you can only stack three before you want to cast a spell. I think perhaps his kit can get a tune up, but I like him as AD/CDR/ArPen... rather than as an ADC because he feels different.

He is. He has gotten picked in the lcs and is a common pick or ban in lck, which is the HIGHEST level of league of legends play. He is a powerful champion in the right hands.

Kit does not make a lot of sense.

You get attack speed for killing things, you also build stacks by auto attacking. Now you need spells with cast animations to HIT to proc your stacks. One of these spells is not worth using unless fully channeled (Q).

The kit wants you to be this weird spell weaver that weaves every 3 autos. You could go pure poke and CDR but then you end up ignoring the other half of his kit. Varus is an example of how not to design a champ. Everything he does Cait can pretty much do (more reliably), unless we are talking ULT crowd control.

A xistinct lack of move speed and mobility that make it very difficult to do anything without being fed/extreme babysitting. I love the guy but there are so many times you see an enemy coming and just go" well...I'm boned"

One of the best midlaners in the game, by far. People don't like ADCing with him because his autoattacks are comparitively weaker than other marksmen and he has a hard time trading with them unless he is immaculate with his skillshots. He's also gridlocked into getting armor penetration and mana early on to maximize the usage of his Q/E, which contributes to him not being able to swap with people stacking crit. Finally, he's a lot more helpless than conventional ADC's when he gets caught, and having to lane against a support trying to constantly lock kills on you makes things a lot more difficult.
