Real talk: how is Zed supposed to ever be a healthy jungler?

I can get Darius Talon and Diana, all are high-end damage but one has no mobility and the others have somewhat-limited mobility, but getting ganked by a Zed is really akin to being ganked by a full AP Malphite (except that tower dives are easier thanks to snap-back).

Normally I don't like Zed, but he is kind of OK, ya know, not really fun to play against but most champions are able to somehow somewhat suffer through him by carefully tracking his and their CDs and position etc.

but in no way you are going to convince me that Zed aprearing from nowhere, pointing you with their cursor from 1300+ units away and overkilling anything that is not at full HP is an OK thing to exist in the game.

Just nope.

I do get that you are trying to pull some people into jungle now that you realized that players don't like to play jungle unless it is a permamently broken role, but 1300-ish range ganks are not a solution.

Realistically speaking, the buffs they gave Zed on the PBE are not going to turn him into a jungler. 60 extra damage to a blue and red buff won't make his clear all that much better, at most he saves about an auto attack worth of damage, so I doubt you will be having zed as a jungler anytime soon unless they give him some more buffs to his clear.

Not to mention even if he does become a jungler, his damage will be much lower than a Zed mid due to unoptimal build paths and being about 2 levels down, so a lot of what you're stating won't happen in reality.

Zed jungle is infinitely more balanced than lane Zed. In order to have healthy clears Zed needs to go a full jungle item. Which means he's spending 2625 on Warrior, which is 2625 he isn't spending on lethality. Mid Zed starts longsword and gets a serrated dirk first back 5 minutes into the game. While jg Zed won't be getting lethality until at least 11 minutes. Jungle Zed also has no CC setup and completely relys on his own damage. Realistically Zed JG won't be walking into your lane solo killing you once he hits level 6 for multiple reasons. He will be hitting level 6 slower than you, and won't have any lethality to increase his damage. He's spending 1000 gold on item 3715 alone so thats 1000 gold lane Zed would've spend buying item 3134 and eventually item 3147. Even the small things like having to go AS to clear the jungle over double adaptive add up.

Picking Zed as a jungler means you are giving up SOLO lane exp and gold, and a person that reliably sits a few feet away from you to kill over and over.

If anything Zed's very minor extra damage to jungle camps will allow Zed mains to play jungle if they get auto filled? I dont know... anyone that first times a Zed in jungle is going to have a bad day, at least from what I can picture happening.

Even if they give Zed a decentjungle clear he won't be half as good as Lee Sin currently is. Even if Zed JG works the only ones that are gonna play it are autofilled Zed mains.

You are overestimating Zed jungle. In fact you are overestimating Zed jungle. "Snapback here and there, this that" but you don't realise that

  1. He has to make a clear happen first. His clear is still awful with no sustain and a long ass CD on his W for waveclear.

  2. He still deals bad damage. Yes, Zed is OP in your eyes and the maybe the boards eyes. But anyone who plays Zed knows for a fact that his damage is extremely gated if he is not hitting all 3 shurikens during Q (assuming he isn't fed but even and the enemies know that seekers nullify 2 lethality items. Plus tabis exist).

  3. Any early jungle will outduel him. That isn't even up to debate it's just the truth. Champs like Lee, Jarvan, Olaf will ruin him, kill him, farm his jungle, make him useless. And assassins like Zed NEED to snowball.

  4. His ganks are ass. He doesn't have CC other than a slow. Honestly, if your team isn't picking any CC champs you are just trolling with that Zed pick. Yes, yes we got it, "but muh 1,6k gapcloser with ult." Eve, Twitch, Elise, Zac, Lee all do the same shit. It's not an argument. In fact some just pop out next to you.

  5. There is no lethality jungle item. So his burst damage is, once again, completely useless. He doesn't have the isolation that Khazix has or the empowered Q of Rengar. He is still bound to being fed and lethality.
