Trying to ward by myself, how?

As usual. Here I am again. (Account is NewYetOldName)

But this time, I've noticed that of all the importance of vision that has been stressed non-stop (and if I haven't been following that notion, I must be a b#2tch-a&4-f#24got by default), I just can't seem to ward properly by myself.

I often ALWAYS have control wards sitting in my item build waiting to be put down, and even then I always forget like the little returd I've been to put at least one down EVERY single game. I have been putting those wards down...but not every single game.

And even then, I'd waste a trinket and put it on cd, and have nothing to ward with. I obviously can't control how my own teammates ward 100%, and whenever I put a control ward down, deep in my head via my internalizing voice "Oh nope, that's the wrong place you put it. Why didn't you put it in this little brush over there instead, you god damn turd? Time to make a hypothetical league vid bashing you!" This isn't even counting the times I've scarra-bushed a few times on my wards.

But meh, I know how much I've been crap; if I can't even solo-handle vision properly/PERFECTLY, then by all means, call me subhuman. And as usual, I know I can't rely on my team for everything.

Watch a couple pro support streams and try to understand where their team and the enemy team is when they go to ward in the enemy jungle or in the river. Also keep in mind where the enemy jungler is and try to ward the places he is going to be in the next minutes but avoid the places he is currently clearing unless you have backup. Try to put the control wards in places that you will be able to defend them (not under your own tower duh) But mostly watch how pros ward and how they are safe doing it

A practice I try (and often fail) is to check my mini-map at least once every 30 seconds (every minion wave). I mention this for you because this will help you to see how much or how little vision you have in your surrounding area. This will make you more conscious of when/ if your wards, or lack of wards, are doing you any good. If your enemies are still able to sneak up on you, you might need more wards, or to place wards in different places.

You get a feeling for it if you're keeping a close eye on the mini-map, you always end up with some, I dunno, "holes" without vision that you know you're going to go through / enemies going to go through
