Unpopular opinion: riot told you how to get chests, just play other champions and do well on them

you should be playing multiple different champions to get a better understanding of the game anyway, but that's just my opinion.

It's not that hard. They gave clear and defined objectives. Meeting those objectives gets you chests. Riot shouldn't have to cater to a minority in the playerbase just because they don't like the rule set given to them and don't want to go out of their comfort zone.

I have gotten chests off of 16 different champions over the course of this season. I have no chests left, and 13 keys. Is this not enough variety for you to realize that maybe there's an issue?

most people have an abundance of chests because they group a lot and have team mates that get Ss. they dont play 100 diff champs. that is the "not enough keys" group. the ones you condemn are people that solo more so get more keys but not chests

one trick ponies are cancer anyway. playing one champion and nobody else means you can't be versatile. at all.

I'm basically a one-trick, and I gotta ask, do 1-tricks really CARE?!? I mean, if you only play one champion, why do you even WANT chests? You can get "champion" shards (for champs you don't play) and skin shards (that 99% of the time will be for champions you don't play). What do people even want chests FOR? I admit, I want something to do with keys/key shards simply because I just pile em up without chests, but I don't really care about chests themselves.

I agree. As an OTP, I wouldn't normally use champions that I have gotten in chests. Although, I still like collecting champions. It's more of a trophy for me. The current loot system encourages me to play champions I haven't mastered yet, or even ever played. Lately I've taken a break from my main and began trying out champions I am not so familiar with in normals.

It's quite the opposite for most people, in general people tend to play way too many champions which is why they can't learn to play the game - how is one supposed to focus on what happens when you have to deal with completely new mechanics every game.

Unfortunately, one's rating isn't "clear and defined" as Riot has never given a precise rubric. And why would a one trick give a crap how many skins or champions he gets from treasure chests if he's not going to play them anyway? This appears to be some sort of red herring to defend riot rather than a genuine argument.

i play fill and all i have are chests, keys rito plis.

the only people who struggle for chests are those who literally only play 1 champion, ever. everyone else sits on a few chests waiting for keys due to autofill.

like 30-50% of league players only play a few champs. not alot of people just play random champs they dont know how to play. especially in ranked

While I do agree with the first part of your post the second part isn't completely true. They really haven't told us the concrete set of rules for getting an S, and every time riot is asked for one their answer basically boils down to "Git gud son". They claim its based on the best players of your champ, but that by definition would have to have a concrete set of rules as to how the game determines what the best players of that champ are. Yes it does change a bit based on how well everyone is playing that champ (try getting an S as xerath when that exploit was out a few months back, basically impossible without using said exploit), but they could give us the guidelines of basically what you need to get an S on a given character based on their own rules to determine the best players.

To those who say oh people will just focus on that and not play to win, people already do that when they are trying earn a chest.
