Can someone explain why people want Sona to be DOTA2 Invoker?

This thought line seems to keep popping up when ever Sona gets some change. And i honestly don't understand it. Does anyone really like the idea of a champion with like 20 different ways their abilities can function? Sure it ramps her skill floor up a ton, but the burden of knowledge is insane. Say QQW is optimal damage output, but WQQ is garbage, QWQ has certain niche uses but can also bit you in the ass if you use it at the wrong time. If you play as her you need to know every combination, how to do you rotations correctly, how to avoid those times where you have "the perfect" combo set up, for damage or healing, BUT you really need to help your ally(s) with one of your other skills.... but that means you can't reset up your combo for 20+ seconds. If you play against her you need to know EVERY combination so you don't get chunked for 70% of your health when you expected to deal with armor pen and a slow. Or we can expand it outwards, you expect a single target chunk and instead Sona busts out something like an AOE explosion that can hit you multiple times (think Tristana 's bomb but it applies to everyone in a target area)

I have never seen that request for Sona specifically. But people have been asking for an invoker esc champion for years. Since season 1 I believe.

Because they're near-sighted and can't imagine Sona as a unique concept. She's either this face-rolly button masher or potential Invoker with no in-between or new idea on how to work coming from people.

Invoker has T E N spells not twenty or more

Invoker's burden of knowledge is not what the spells do, they're quite simple invoker's burden of knowledge is knowing what combination of wex/quas/exort will give you which spell

additionally there are multiple builds that depends on which instance you max first and this makes invoker more complex as there is an exort exort exort build or wex wex wex build

anyway as a Sona main myself i just want Sona to be reworked, invoker or not it doesn't matter

I feel like i remember an Invoker where it mattered the order in which you cast the spells. Such that Wex, Quas, Exort gave you a 100% different spell then Exort, Quas, Wex. Maybe that character never existed, but i have this memory of it working like that at one point. Going off that Sona would have an insane number of spells to keep track of.

All this said 10 spells is still a lot of keep track of on top of the effect of each of her abilities.... unless you assume she had to combine 3 spells (that did nothing on their own) before she could cast anything. This leads to the issue of Sona having 1 spell. Which means that even if Q, W, and E are all on zero cooldown and have no delay between button presses, you would still be limited to doing ONE THING every 5-10 seconds (not sure what the exact number would be for her "ultimate").
