PLEASE Give us invisible status, Riot

Zombiephil··135 votes·5,012 views

I guess this is partially my fault for having so many people on my friend list, but then again, there's that "Friends of Friends" thing that allows you to invite anyone who is friends with your friend. So even if I got rid of all the random people I don't know, the 200 friends that some of my real life friends have made will still spam invites at me all day.

Can we please get an invisible status within the client that just lets us appear offline to other friends and has us not shown on the "Friends of Friends" invite list? I can still invite other people, and the client will seem normal for me, but no one can see what I'm doing (kind of like spying). I should still be able to queue up for games, but should not appear on someone's friend list as in game, so no one can spectate me either. This way I can actually play alone when I want to. Also, I love making item sets. I have 77 item sets (and counting) which include build orders for a champion or creative stuff like Crit Garen, Tanky Master Yi, AP Shen, etc... but it really pisses me off when there's 3 invites every 4 minutes while I'm trying to create item sets. Please Riot, give us an invisible status.

Lol, yes please. I'm constantly getting invited for Blind Pick and Team Builder, and I really don't like those queues at all. I think a more complicated option I'd like to achieve what I want (rather than being completely invisible) is to be able to block myself from being invited to certain modes. That way people will see me on the Recommended Invites list for Draft Pick but not Blind.

Well.... I'll stop inviting for blind now.... ;-;

Everyone on my friends list does it because they have a huge list of friends they mass invite lol.

Would love this option if added - sometimes you really do just want to play a game on your own and not have to wait around for people that you'd feel bad not inviting/have to play around their role choices. I know it's not a big thing but it'd be useful nonetheless.

You need a new BF, that's going to slippery slope into more abuse pretty quick. Just saying.

Or he needs a new GF, interesting how the man is always guilty by default even when no information is present.

I mean, not sure how that's abuse or how that leads to more abuse...

I like how you assume he's checking for malicious purposes, and how she isn't possibly at fault. How do you know she isn't a League addict who keeps missing class or failing assignments because she's playing League? Or that she's a neglectful girlfriend who doesn't communicate and likes to ignore him, so the only way he can maybe know if she's actually busy or if she's just ignoring him is to check to see if she's playing League?

I bring this up mostly because I don't think her boyfriend, no matter how suspicious, would use her being on League as an excuse for the typical "IS SHE CHEATING ON ME?!" style of Facebook-stalking. If anything, it'd be more "Oh god, is she cheating on me? She was looking at that guy in the coffee shop today- Oh, no, she's playing League. Psssh, she's never getting laid. NERRRD."

My bf always checks my league/match history to see if im still awake. invis please

Well I hope he doesn't stalk you on the forums. If you unfriend, only ranked games are public, unless he uses LoLKing, Elophant, or OP.GG. You could make a smurf account and trade names. Then add him on that smurf, and when he asks why you are Level 1, say, "What? Must be a glitch."

wtf? what if she has a terribly sleeping habit and he's trying to send her to sleep. I send my gf to bed all the time when i see her awake at 1am and she needs to get up at 6.

I agree with this completely. I have those friends on League that I don't really want to play with all the time, yet I'm too nice and it's hard to tell them "no". This usually ends up with me playing matches that I have no interest in, and I probably wasn't trying my hardest. Think it over, Riot! It's a great idea.

I would love this. I would also love it if they would fix the away status so it stops resetting to online on its own while I'm away, and if people would stop ignoring my away status so I come back to a pile of invites anyway. XD

This is a great idea considering I'm the type of person who sometimes likes to just be alone, and play alone. And I don't want some people to think I am blowing them off sometimes.

My point exactly.

If Riot read this, this would make the game 100% better, gets really annoying getting invites, I don't want to be bothered when i'm playing the game, really annoying.

Remove your "friends" or decline their invites and tell them in a message you're busy so they don't reinvite you. Why do you have them added on the client if you don't plan on playing with them? I can understand if you want to message someone specific tho they have a lot of other programs out there specifically made for that. It'd be a nice feature to have but at worst its an inconvenience.

70% of the invites aren't even from people on your friends list, they are from you popping up on the "Recommended Invites" list on some stranger's screen because those people are friends with one of your friends. Just because people are on my client does not mean I want to play with them whenever they invite me. There are times when I want to play alone, other times when I only want to play Ranked and Level 27s are spamming Normal game invites, and sometimes I get invited to Intro Bot games too... where I can get 20 kills in my sleep. Also, why get "other messaging programs" when we have LoL right in front of us?

There's a setting to silence notifications so they don't pop up and block the screen

I know this, and this would be okay if I was doing Item Sets. But then they follow up with a message (assume it is someone on my friends list) asking why I'm not joining EVEN THOUGH I'M ON THE AWAY STATUS. Sometimes I just don't feel like playing with people at that moment, because I am working on item sets, then I get 10 messages almost simultaneously because I didn't accept even though I had set myself to away. Now if I was offline? Then they wouldn't even know I was logged on and I would not be an option for invites. I could also easily sneak into a game by myself assuming no one is constantly checking my match history.

Or, maybe I am waiting for a RL friend who is coming on in 15 minutes. I could hide myself on Offline while I am waiting, as opposed to getting 25 invites and 13 messages in the next 15 minutes because I am pretending to AFK by not responding to invites. Last example. Whenever I'm on "Creating Normal Game", like 7-10 people will say "invite?" when I'm trying to play with one friend, and it would be rude to just go into Queue. Now if I was offline they wouldn't even know I was creating a normal game.

FluxBound1 votes

Oh, idk then. The people on my friends list aren't like that, They'll invite and if I miss it, then I miss it.

Mongoose1 votes

i know that there is already something created called LESs that patches all sorts of helpful things into your client that dont affect your gameplay, like offline mode and adding skins to bots.

riot you created a great game but you are being dumb about the ranked system and the game, also some champs get way too ahead you can't say all champs are equal or good if you play them right

I'd actually enjoy this. Sometimes I'd like to just talk with people I haven't any other means to talk with and not get spammed with invites from random people who aren't even on my friends list. I'd enjoy the ability to hide myself from people.

Cats Are Food1 votes

Oh thank god... My Friends List has been full for years, and 90% of them I don't even remember who they were. They still talk to -me-, despite three name changes over the years, but I have no idea who these people are. I like to play with them occasionally, just to avoid pugs, but let's be honest... sometimes I just want to login, play some normals, and be left to my own devices without having to reply to six messages about why I just joined a game without soandso.

Daxterr1 votes

This would help so many awkward scenarios. I have had people like "OMG PLAY WITH ME OR I WILL CRY WOW WHY DO YOU HATE ME PLAY WITH ME OR ELSE!" and I was wondering why the hell there is no offline option in this game.

I pretty much delete everyone thats not IRL

Even with a friends list of 11 people there are times when I just want to play alone and don't wanna feel guilty for ditching friends. This'd be a great idea.

Anyone forward to Riot yet? This is something that really needs to be added. If no one, I will forward it later.
