STOP thinking you have to have to have to have to Baron before the game ends PLEASE

Baron is like a bait to throw the game for noobs. Last game there were multiple occurrences where there were 4-5 enemies dead for 45+ seconds and our Tristana immediately screams, "BARON," "Do it quick!" I had to basically guide my team through late game last match (16-9-12 Master Yi Jungle game). I had to ping the dumbest things like targetting the Nexus turret when we had a full 5 and they had only their Ashe. Had I not, Tristana and the other 3 would've gone Baron and we might have thrown the game. This is not the first time either. A while back, our Zed sat in the jungle pinging for baron when the entire enemy was dead. 4 of us were in the enemy base punching Nexus turrets. Then Amumu came and snared my entire team and the rest killed us. Had Zed been there the Nexus would've been dead before Amumu even revived. Another game, this was URF, I was Shen and enemy super minions were attacking our Nexus and my team spammed "BARON," in chat and pinging it. The minions took our base because Shen has horrible clear. I even spam pinged the Nexus but they all ran to Baron. Or, the most common mistake, is the Baron Throw. You're in a tight game and your team just decides to Baron while all 5 enemies are alive and MIA.

So why do you have to do Baron when there are bigger things there like winning the game? Does Baron net you an extra 92 lp? Does it instantly take down the enemy base? Does it freeze the enemies respawn timers that is ticking down from 55 seconds while you fools are at baron? Is it something that solves everything?

Please, I know these are probably Bronzes that make these mistakes, but PLEASE get your heads straight. It's not hard to figure out what the main objective of the game is.

The main objective is to take down... Bronzie: Baron? NO! THE ENEMY NEXUS!

quickly, while the enemy is distracted by our nexus! Do baron!

I think the people that are standing in the enemy base with a majority of the other team dead and recall JUST to buy items and heal from half health when they can just win are just as bad if not worse.

THIS! I think Baron's acceptable if the game could really go either way, and you just need that final little boost at the end, but some people throw so hard. YOU DO NOT NEED BARON IF YOU ARE WINNING HARD.

If you're winning hard its the best time to do Baron. Forcing baron when you know you can win a teamfight means you either get baron for free, or you ace them.

It's also great if you're behind to the point where you have nothing to lose and a baron buff to gain.

BlackKroa2 votes

He was implying the fact that when its even even game, either could win and you team fight win the team fight and their nexus is open, you should go for the nexus not baron. It's obvious decision. When people decide its a close game death timers are like 50 seconds they just think, "Oh hey we can take baron to ensure victory!" WELL NO! To ensure victory it's better to just go and push to win.

Truly Prideful7 votes

I hate Baron unless it's free and we can't just take their base in that same timespan. Baron loses more games than it wins, at least in my experience. That giant purple worm is the ultimate bait.

I remember me and my friend were playing a game, I was Sona and he was Ezreal. We aced their team and they had an open nexus. Our team went and did Baron and we ended up losing.

You 2 couldn't take the Nexus by yourselves? But yeah, that's not uncommon at all. I always have to ping spam the Nexus and type, "END NOW" in the chat to prevent that from happening.

if there are 3/4 enemys death for 45 seconds + and you have 4/5 alive you should baron sure you could get a tower but getting baron at this point is not a trow

ther is a max of 1/2 people of them alive ward around baron and he wont steal it before 45 seconds are over you have baron and what is that 1/2 guys gonne do teamfight hte 4/5 of you ??? its a free baron for the love of god take it

its not only about you taking baron this means they can not take it annymore next you can turn that baron in 2/3 towers inhabs and w/e you can get

its entirely situaational do if its a lucky a lucky win and you are not going to be able to teamfight them again id rather get inhab tower + inhab than baron cause that extra presure can lead to 4v5 situations

What he's saying is people would rather get Baron than win. I've noticed the same trend. They could have 4 dead, with nothing except Janna alive, on 65 second death timers, with open nexus turrets, with your whole team alive.. And your team wants to Baron. Which is ridiculously stupid in that case, as you could end the game instead.

Taking baron at a time when you can't just win instead is totally fine, but if the option is "Win Now" Or "Baron Now, win Later".. I'd rather win now.

if you can finish than finish i mean no baron is worth not finishing but if you can not finish yet theres a 45 seconds death timer get that baron

ive seen worse where there is a 45+ death timer on 4 man of the enemy team we can get mid turret ( idc if theyd get baron id be happy to ) but instead they are splitting up and farming jungle i went to push mid lane alone on sej not being able to push it fast enough to take a tower and helplessly watch amumu scale into a monster

^ agreed! lol usually I try to tell teammates to take out turrets and inhibs....I mean if enemy is spawning in like 10 seconds and you're at inhib....take it and run back. THEN you can baron as long as you ward. I mean at this point you can get them to run towards baron and pick them off through an ambush. Since it's warded...if they don't head straight for the baron then it's ok to take it while they kill off the minions at their nexus turrets at this point. NOW THEN! if you're at the nexus turrets...as long as it's actually possible to end it. Like 30secs for the first person and 4-5 people+minions on nexus turrets. then you better take it and not even think about baron LOL. At 30secs you might be able to take an inhib....both nexus turrets and possibly take out nexus with a team of 4-5+minions if you rush it :P Baron isn't necessary but if you know where enemy team is....you can't outright win it because whole team is blocking the way and clearing minions...then Baron is ok! go for it as long as you ward the way there in case enemy tries to rush you and steal baron while killing 3-4 of you :O

You don't understand how hard baron can throw a game, I have literally gone in 1v4 as Warwick vs Udyr Jungle while they were doing Baron (this was around preseason 4) and literally hi-jacked the game from them by ulting udyr and smiting the baron WHILE he was suppressed by me.

What Is Smite3 votes

They had it warded, they lacked map awareness. This game is not say, Smite which alerts you in the center of your screen that an enemy has been spotted by your wards. Literally this game is you have to only keep track of where enemies are by glancing at your minimap every 2 minutes or so to find out where everyone is on the minimap. Unfortunately people don't like the truth and when you tell their sorry asses that they died to a gank because they didn't check their minimap and the wards they had placed in the river then they call you a "bad" jungler or laner and then proceed to report you for stupidy of their own. If I had to monologue about how stupid people could get, I would put together a presentation with charts, graphs, and facts about how stupid people become and where that brain activity originates from. Anyways that's enough of a rant from me, people will end up down voting me because the government is right when they say: "The People Can't Handle The Truth"

GrumpyButtercup1 votes

You should be glancing at your map every few seconds bro... Two minutes and they could've cleared your entire base.

In those same 2 minutes I'm listening to Morgan Freeman talk about how he is the reason for our creation XD, jokes aside the estimate was just an exaggeration on how often people look at their minimaps

TurquoiseYoshi4 votes

What's worst is when your teammates literally cannot take on the Baron and try anyway, like a one or two man Baron attempt, or a 25 minute attempt without the jungler (and smite). Baron really isn't that good, at least, it isn't good enough to sacrifice a chance at winning outright or even two or three turrets. IT LASTS THREE MINUTES! Baron isn't a win condition, it is a way to get to the win condition.

Baron is objective for most people (in bronze 5) anywhere, some player go afk after baron and elder dragon thinking they beat the final demon lord of Dragon Quest.

It's always better to go and take one or two inhibs, and maybe a nexus turret. THEN, afterwords, they'll be pushed into their base from the super minions and you get a free baron anyways.

People in low Elos worship the dragon more than baron. Inhib? No, 2nd drag is so much more important! Let's get that!

Ranks never seem to mean anything to people until they climb them and realize how much they actually meant. It becomes especially obvious when you decide to do it a 2nd time on a smurf.

Swollwonder2 votes

Ending is a skill terribly lacking in lower elos. People need to realize that just as much as you all in champs you can all in the nexus at the end game if the conditions are right, even if it means losing three of your five people while you do it.

Snakezzy2 votes

Here is the thing: Some games I agree you can end before doing baron but some games it is risky to end and baron is the safer option. Especially late in games, if you try and end and get aced, you just lost the game yourself. Many games taking baron before a final push is better.

Yes, when the enemy team (or most of them anyway) are stuck defending base. Not when they're all dead or only have 1 guy left and their base is basically undefended. That seems to be the complicated part.

blubabby2 votes

When I queue with four other friends, we tend to get Baron and fifth Dragon instead of winning as more of a show of BM than anything, haha.

Stellafreyja2 votes

I've seen people ping for Baron while we're taking down the Nexus turrets. Like, no. It's faster to push and take Nexus than it is to kill Baron and go back to the enemy Nexus. The only time I find Baron worthwhile is if there are still some turrets up and you happen to get a Quadra or Ace. It makes pushing for the Nexus easier. Going for Baron when you Ace the team and all their inhib turrets are down is stupid.

In the words of a famous brain, you're not even wrong.

Don't think you know what that means before you look it up. Spouting nonsense and declaring it factual is what you have done. I placed higher than you with only 20 games in a season. The OP makes valid points about objective decision making that he sees in his games. While bringing it to the forums is neither here nor there, the points raised by the OP do have merit. Baron is completely situational and in multiple instances can throw a game that could have been won. On the other hand Baron can also be an extremely useful tool in sieging a base. You use the LCS in your conclusion, which is a fallacy in itself. You must build and play according to your elo. LCS players are the top players in the world, their mechanics are extremely tuned. The reason why Baron is so important in the LCS is because often teams do not shut out their opponents. In lower elo it is a fairly common occurrence for matches to become extremely one sided or at the very least have one really fed opponent. At this stage closing out with Baron is about as important as closing out with 5 Dragons or clearing all turrets in game.

The majority of games I play are won without Baron buff being used. Instead Baron is more often used as a trap to ace the enemy team and push for a win.

What is happening here is a textbook case of the Dunning-Kruger effect. Reflect on yourself some more dude, you need some meditation in your life.

This is relevant... how again? Furthermore your not even ranked Season 5 I looked this up. I doubt you would even make Silver yourself in placement matches given how S5 shaped out: Two can play your "I am ranked higher then you so STFU" game you know.

The reason low MMR isn't LCS is because they don't use effective meta strategies such as BN. Instead of taking BN, pushing the lanes, and seguing... they rather just stand mid for 30 min starring at the other team waiting for something to happen. Claiming that this is someone "acceptable" is self-defeating logic. BN can be used at all skill levels... the difference is the speed and amount of turret pushing that is done by each skill tier. A Bronze team may only be able to push outer/inner turrets for instance... whereas higher tiers may be able to push down the base. That doesn't mean BN is irrelevant.

Even if something is one sided.. it is prudent to cover all bases. Assuming you are "always better then them" which is an assertion of the OP and not taking objectives like Dragon or BN and thinking you will do fine only sets you up for failure.

The majority of games I play are won without Baron buff being used. Instead Baron is more often used as a trap to ace the enemy team and push for a win.

This is probably because you are carrying your games easily. In matches that are == and last 30, 40, 50 minutes and still no barons? This cannot be justified.

What is happening here is a textbook case of the Dunning-Kruger effect. Reflect on yourself some more dude, you need some meditation in your life.

Lol I had to look that one up... way to go with Ad-Homen logic attacks. Either debate the merits of the discussion using logical argumentation or stop trolling. Futhermore being that your not LCS player yourself your own attack could be used against yourself Mr. Grumpy.

Indeed it is so...
