Does a dodge in these first 10 games count as a loss for the placements?

Because if it does, I'm going back to Bronze V.

UPDATE: I tried dodging a few games, and dodges do NOT affect provisional games.

Yes.

Pretty sure dodging and leaving both count as losses.

I've been under the impression that dodging, although it counts as a loss, doesn't impact your mmr, and for placements the only thing that actually matters at the end is your mmr.

If they use the same formula as last year - (old mmr+1200)/2=new mmr pre-placements - then in theory one could dodge all 10 games and if that formula outputs a gold mmr (say if your were diamond), you'd be placed gold. Similarly if someone was bronze before (which has an mmr below 1200 which is silver 4/3ish) and they dodged all 10, they might even be placed higher then they ended the previous season.

Placement matches previously were pretty influential on your mmr though, so if you think you're better than silver it's probably in your best interest to play all your matches and hope for the best.

So if you're worse than silver you should just dodge them all and you'll get to start in a better place? Lol

I'm actually going to test this theory out and report back. I had less than 1,000 mmr before.
