edge of night doesn't make sense as an assassin item, and marksman will probably buy it more
most assassins already come in built with at least one way to make it difficult to hit them with abilities or to dodge/negate them altogether through means like untargetability
edge of night giving you a spell shield (and a delayed one at that) just seems extraneous considering what most assassins come with. for example; Zed has W to juke spells and R's brief untargetability can be used to avoid damage as well. Talon has stealth, Rengar has stealth and enhanced W which cleanses CC, Shaco has stealth+blink on the same move, etc.
Unless the item has just really dumb stats or is really cheap compared to other preferable ticket items, I don't think assassins are going to buy this. What worries me, though, is that these issues don't exist for the marksmen who bought the item when it was good -- and were the reason the item got nerfed in the first place. Miss Fortune definitely still enjoys Lethality builds right now, and it might make the item at least worth a pickup on its old users Quinn, Lucian and Jhin; they get a solid chunk of AD and lethality and a spell shield that softens up their main weakness - being bursted by abilities.
redesign EoN for juggernauts and we'll make better use of it than those ungrateful assassins :]
