A guide to not suck with Talon.

Talon is my favorite mid laner, so I'm going to tell you how to stop looking bad and making me rage when you use him wrong.

ACTIVATE YOUR PASSIVE THEN GTFO!!!!!

When I play Talon, I get my kills from my passive, not from my abilities, not from my AAs, but from my passive! Talon is an assassin, he should not be involved in extended trades.

Let me give you a comparison so you understand what I'm saying to you. Everybody knows Darius does ridiculously op bleed damage.

Darius = 135 ( + 150% bonus attack damage) physical damage over 5 seconds at max stacks (5). Talon = 160 ( + 200% bonus attack damage) physical damage over 2 seconds.

Noob with Thunderlord's Decree (some use Deathfire Grasp) says, "But Talon doesn't have a disengage unless he ults."

BECAUSE YOU'RE USING THE WRONG FREAKING KEYSTONE!

---> STORM RAIDER'S SURGE <--- That is the assassin mastery. It should be used for every assassin, because that's your escape. When people cry about how poor Rengar can't get away, but they have Thunderlord's [slayer-jinx-unamused] ... you deserved to die.

My late game build has 285 bonus attack damage. Meaning, late game, my Thunderlord's would do 265 magic damage. That's useless! My Deathfire Grasp would deal 179 magic damage... also very useless. Why are the useless? Because Talon's passive, Blade's End, will deal 730 physical damage which benefits from the armor penetration you have.

You know what isn't useless... 40% movement speed boost for 2.5 seconds with 75% slow resist. Cunning tree = my tree is 5 wanderer, assassin, 5 merciless, dangerous game, stormraider. Ferocity tree = 5 sorcery, fresh blood, 5 natural talent, bounty hunter.

I take 9 scaling armor seals, 9 scaling magic resist seals. 9 lethality marks, 3 lethality quints. Build is item 3071 item 3142 item 3158 item 3814 item 3147 item 3036

To activate your passive, you have to land 3 abilites and then AA. Q = 1 W = 2 (1 for blades going out, 1 for blades returning) R = 2 (1 for blades going out, 1 for blades returning)

The correct way to do this is Q > W > AA or W > Q > AA, passive is active and so is stormraiders so run away.

When your ult is up, please don't do the following combos WQRR, QWRR, WRQ, QRW wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong.

With your ult, you can proc the passive... TWICE!

WQAA, RQAA then run away! and let the bleed damage kill your target.

You're welcome.

Bonus information: My favorite top lane champion is MonkeyKing . He's a tank, masteries 12/0/18 with Bond of Stone. His job in a team fight is to peel, so stop making him squishy. My go to build against a balanced team is item 3071 item 3068 (item 3111 or item 3047) (item 3102 or item 3065) item 3083 item 3036 . I hate to see squishy Wukongs get obliterated the 2nd they activate their ult or Wukongs that don't use their ult because they have AS and crit chance so they do more AA damage. Problem is, you're sacrificing melting the whole enemy team for your carry to focus one target, stop doing that. When Wukong uses his ult, the whole enemy team should be scared! W > E to squishy > Q (try to hit the enemy tank if close enough, if not, just pole slap the squishy) > R (focus the carries/assassins first). This build has picked up so many pentas for me. Tried glass Kong before... never works out.

No "git gud" ... "get smart"

It's not a matter of execution, but a matter of using your brain.

First off, doesn't Talon passive have a cooldown? It should.

Also, Darius's bleed isn't scary, it's the 5 stacks that is.

That bleed damage is what kills you when you run away. No, the passive doesn't have a cooldown, it can be reproc'd as many times as you can get your abilities off. But being that W and R having long cooldowns, it can't be spammed.

If you don't think Darius' bleed damage is scary, get a champion and I'll invite you to a custom match so you can see how much of your health drops off from passive bleed.

This is not a challenge btw, it's simply a matter of giving you a visual for the numbers.

But Darius wants to kill you with his ult so he gets the reset :P Huh. It's only abilities, right? Not sure if it was something else but does it also proc off autos?

Sure, why not.

Of course Darius WANTS to kill you with his R, so you die sooner rather than later, but there's been plenty of times I've been silenced by Garen or stunned by Pantheon or simply had a champ summoner 4 away but still die to bleed damage.

Darius doesn't need his R to keep his 5 stacks. If he gets 5 stacks, it automatically transfers to every champ while Noxian Might is active. As for instantly getting 5 stacks, you can just R a low health champion and immediately get the 5 stacks from killing with R.

Now on to Talon. Only his abilities can set up the bleed, only an autoattack can trigger. Autoattacks don't proc, abilities don't trigger. Has to be 3 abilities, then an autoattack. So a CD on his passive isn't necessary.
