Why does Riot refuse to nerf ANY of the problem champs properly?

Nautilus Kaisa Aatrox Irelia Nunu Sylas Zed Yasuo Vladimir Riven Pyke Hecarim Brand Renekton Zoe TahmKench are all running around in EVERY game you play, making it zero fun and an overall toxic environment.

So what does Riot do? -5 AD nerfs (you know what I'm talking about: Vayne during season 5). Essentially nerfs which are about as minuscule as slightly tapping them on the shoulder. In Riven's case she got instant compensation....which ended up being a buff due to the nature of Riven as a champion (one trick champ).

All of the champions I've listed have kits which lack any significant counterplay right now due to either an item, rune, their abilities removing each other's counterplay (think Yasuo and Irelia) or all of the above.

Aatrox is one of the worst offenders here, as he abuses Conqueror+the additional healing runes, his healing is absolutely disgusting and also has elements in his kit which allow him to kill you with just autos (being his passive, auto reset on E and bonus AD on ult). Then he can just build Death's Dance and he's essentially a raid boss. Aatrox also doesn't really get punished for missing his Qs anymore thanks to his Riven-esque Q buff, wherein he gets to just permanently have it up or at worst it goes on cooldown for 3-4 seconds. Sorry, but that's not really much of a window to punish him, especially since his passive stings and heals so much.

Then you have Irelia who initially got nerfed but then Riot couldn't let her be bad for even a single patch so they kept buffing her back to broken tier. Her kit is a clear indicator of what you SHOULDN'T do when reworking a champion. For the sake of being concise, she's far too mobile, overall overloaded and her kit's counterplay is eliminated by her passive and said mobility.

Nautilus is als worthy of a mention as he's been absolutely broken as a support for almost a season now and yet there has been 0 actual relevant changes to hinder him in any way besides a -20 damage to Q, which to be honest doesn't even make sense since Naut's strength isn't his damage, it's his general tankiness and CC.

One final example is Yasuo , but for a different reason....his kit is the very definition of toxic. Additionally all of his counterplay is removed since his kit has so many options. His Q's lack of range is negligible since he is hyper mobile with dash, which then brings the issue of him being squishy; yet he gets a shield just by walking and moving; which THEN brings it back to his E in that he can stack his passive just by dashing. And THEN on top of all of that....Windwall, THE single best ability in the game imo. Windwall pretty much means you can't poke down his passive if he so chooses to, as well as the obvious fact of the matter being that it blocks ALL projectiles in the game AND it's extremely lenient. Oh, and then he has ult which gives him armour penetration for some reason? To this day I still think he doesn't need it.

tl;dr Riot is refusing to nerf/rework/change in any way toxic, anti-fun champions that have been nuisances ever since their release or since new runes and/or Spear of Shojin.

so is this just a “these are the champs I don’t like to play against” post?

Well yes....but actually no (please tell me you get the reference). The champs I hate playing against are Yas, Zed and Fizz, and since I don't see Fizz on that list it's fair to say that's not what this is about :)

Is that Harry Potter? And sorry I’m sure we are in different elos so we may see different frustrating champs as well.

All good. Nah, it's not Harry Potter, it's just a meme format atm haha.

maybe uh buy the item for 800g that reduces his healing by 40% and uh side step q1 walk into inner side of q2 and then just disengage when he q3's

I do buy Executioner's, it's just that that doesn't fully solve the problem since the healing is still too much and his base stats are far too out of line right now as he's just naturally tanky. What ends up happening is you buy Executioner's and he walks back to lane with 1.3k-1.5k HP and he never dies simply due to the fact that he possesses far too much health. Oh, and passive procs are also extremely volatile when it comes to healing.

Also, this can't even apply to mages, what do they buy? Morello's? That's a 3k gold item. Like, Aatrox is so much more nightmarish to face mid lane than he is top lane, so with that in mind what do you do against him mid? You've listed a single strategy that only works when you're top lane and an AD champion.

That said, it IS an effective strategy that you've listed, so I do honor you for trying to state the obvious, as most people don't know that item exists. Thankfully I have a functioning brain and I do know about its existence, it's just that Aatrox isn't stopped by this single item in his current state.

None of them are problematic or toxic.

For the overwhelming majority of complainers properly = unplayable and well riot's not trying to do that unless the situation specifically calls for it. There is no nerf you can ever give any champion to stop complaints as long as you can physically see them picked and loaded into the game.

At the very least they could address Nautilus and Aatrox though. They're blatantly overpowered.

Also, as I'm a victim of the Assassin update (rip old Kat) I'm just going to say this right now. If a champion's kit is apparently "toxic", rework them, and then rework them again if it's still toxic. Seriously, people need to suck it up and let toxic champs get reworked. Those same people (namely Riven and Yasuo mains) who defend their champions to the death are usually happy to see other champs that aren't theirs reworked.

"properly = unplayable"? Somewhat. To me I just want these champions to have some actual counterplay and to not be blatantly overpowered and overly oppressive to face. Like right now Tahm Kench's and Aatrox's counterplay boils down to "don't fight them" as they're far too overwhelming to face in a lane. That's it. That's not fun for anyone involved, and if I wanted to do something that uninteractive I'd lie down on the couch and watch Transformers 4. No champion should ever turn the lane into a farmfest just because they're picked, unless there's some clearcut counterplay to this, yet neither possess this (although to be fair Tahm just got bent over by Riot as a support pick).
