The problem with this video:
Both are high risk early game insec junglers. They have always been low farm champions early game. And, Elise is % damage, so itemization early game doesn't matter nearly as much as Electrocute.
And, if Elise had failed to get those 3v1/3v2 kills in river, she would have wasted her time, and been closer to the same situation Lee Sin was in.
P.S. I'm not arguing ganking isn't legit. But..... you are required to kill camps as you pass through, or ganking won't be enough. It's just..... the video is heavily playing off that part of the argument, and Elise ALSO was farming and had a significant CS lead. She was just using her jungle mobility to minimize the time she spent there, cleared 1/2 of her jungle, and then went to a lane to use her advantage.
I play fairly immobile junglers, and I do the same thing; When I play Zyra jungle, I usually Red > Krugs > Raptors, and then I path through Bot scuttler, investigate behind bot lane's turret to see where the other jungler is. Then I either advance clear a camp or two there (if not taken) and then I head bot lane through the less obvious pathing of either behind their turret, or over the bomb wall so their warding/overpushing allows for easy and unavoidable ganks.
^ Doesn't mean I didn't farm. It just minimized the time between camps and made sure I had a power spike my opponents didn't have yet.
Then I soft pressure mid, and then I either recall or go top. If I've been successful, I have 2-3 Kills/assists, but I'm also up on farm, and then I can translate that into a top gank, or if top is at a noncombat point, I get my top jungle and recall.
Ganking is SUPPOSED to be part of the rotation. But, without farming, it's not influential. Elise Farmed. She just didn't "Stay in the jungle."
What Riot explicitly didn't want around was "No farm" ganks like Udyr used to do where he literally level 2 had a sure kill top lane, or Level 2 Nidalee. Now it's more like a "Some farm" level 3.
