Because the melee champions are banned in top lane a **lot **and overall only 3 champions with over 20% ban rate aren't melee top laners. http://champion.gg/statistics/#?sortBy=general.banRate&order=descend&roleSort=Top

That many bans is bound to impact win rates.

Also irelia isn't that bad (she isn't a staple ban unlike jax).
