Is Season 6 really the worst season?
I started in season 3.

Season 5 was ehhhh, ok i guess
season 6 is just so bad

Season 6 is THE WORST season for me. Riot does a great job and I know they work hard but this particular season actually drove me and all my friends off the game until the situation improves
That being said, I understand that there's still tons (TONS) of people who still enjoy the game as it is. Rock on
Maybe it is the worst. But that's okay, yeah? Things always get worse before they get better. The bad times just help us appreciate the good ones.
Totally. To be fair, there was the occasional awesome game to be had for us. But the stars really had to align. After a while, hoping for a good game stopped feeling worth it. I feel like the game's probably heading in a good direction, and we'll be back to check out the next season

Season 2 was the best given that marksman literally only had their late game fantasy of being a monster and more classes had higher value due to the slower gold income meanign that late game took longer to happen. Only down side was really for supports who were literally the ward bitch and were lucky to get any items completed by 30 minutes and there was no sightstone at this time but also no limit on the number of wards that a champ could place meaning that supports were expected to have something like 10 wards on the map at all times.
Next best period was season 4 around 5 patches into the season which had allowed the over tuned tank masteries to get balanced. Top lane was able to be a hard carry during this period meaning that the "island" was something you wanted to put some attention towards. This period was short lived because Riot decided to do some changes which resulted in Nidalee and Ryze becoming the powerful meta champs later in the season which in turn made Irelia return to the meta for season 5 due to being one of the only melee who can actually be highly effective against ranged and we are still seeing the effects of ranged in top to this day making a lot of melee less then ideal to pick.

if we go back to this era, i would play support every games
they were balanced around having no items, i remember clearly sona removing half of the adc hp with Q+passive without any items at 10 min in the game
or taric, being able to 1v1 the adc until the adc had 1 full item.
This
So much this
Not only that think of it this way, when supports had no gold to get any items it meant things like Annie support/Brand support/Karma Support didn't do so good since outside of their CC they become useless without damage items
While we're on the topic of "bring back stuff from back then" Bring back old Sona, mid-late game she basically had zero damage (so damage wise it was a 4 v 5) but she brought so much utility to make up for it...which they took away when they reworked her and never gave her anything back
Funny thing is supports enjoyed doing that. They just asked for a little more gold per 5. Instead they were reworked completely into this minigame role.

I'll agree and upvote for the season 2 being the best season, but I hated season 4 more than season 6 (though I can understand if you actually minded dynamic queue).
dynamic queue is the reason i don't play ranked in season 6 yes
but in season 6, damage creep got retarded so hard, if i play a bruiser or a juggernaut i understand being kited but getting 100-0 in 0.5 seconds as
is simply unfun, where if the point of being immobile? and melee? if you just get destroy in little time
during season 2, (and even more in season 1),immobile bruisers used to be kittable so hard aka
but at least they wouldn't fall in less than one second.

Agreed. Started in season 2. I'd say jungle got healthier in 3, but the dynamic between roles, and arguably itemization, was best in season 2. Season 6 was a shitshow, with a preseason opening act that will be remembered as the worst time in league's history.
jungle wasn't healthier in season 3 holly shit, season 3 was the season of "i abuse every jungle item as a laner" jungle in season 2 was balanced, you had bruisers+tanks+ap in the jungle what wasn't good is that farming champs like yi or warwick were so weak in the jungle because farming the jungle was terrible
[{quoted}](name=Sona x Rubick,realm=NA,application-id=3ErqAdtq,discussion-id=eNUqWnlq,comment-id=000600020000,timestamp=2016-11-05T18:31:39.407+0000)

How laners abuse jungle items doesn't concern me. How junglers use jungle items does. Do you remember Lantern? It had very specific stats that not everyone utilized well, and the passive was random as fuck. So long as you had enough AS to cheese the % for bonus magic damage, you could nuke dragon or baron solo. It was stupid. Differentiation between the items was a great move-- not instantly tying it to smite was not, I'll grant you that.
lantern was trash tbh, laners abused it in early season 2 and riot in season 2 was incompetent unlike later in season 4/5. instead of nerfing the stats and buffing the damage against monsters, they straight up nerfed lantern making every farming jungle going into oblivion like warwick/yi
you know the funniest thing, is that stattik posted a poll to how should riot buff lantern, and we all pressed the option "not making it randomly"
cause i agree that lantern being random was terrible.
http://forums.na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=3445857
You would never see a Rioter post with a poll like that these days.
As the game has changed, so has the company, it seems... :(
Same here, I play since pre-season 1, i've been through all positions, and if there was a mastery sytem back when already, i'd probably have masterie 5+ on every single champion.
S2 clearly was the best Season for me, and S6 was by far the worst so far...and sadly, S7 doesn't look all that promising so far either...
My personal opinion is that they have slowly been making what I consider to be mistakes - adding things that I believe make the game less fun and healthy to play - and that those mistakes have been piling up over time.
When you have one bad thing in the game at a time, you can usually ban it out or at least work around it, but when there's a dozen things you hate, then the chances are that one of them is going to be in your game every single game. Also, when the bad decisions are in entire game systems rather than just a single item or champion, then it's much harder to avoid them.
Some of the biggest "mistakes" in my option:
Writing up that list, I've realised that most of these issue were new systems changes introduced in season 6. To be fair, though, they've also added some nice things. I like the current state of the jungle, I like that support can actually have income now, and a few other things.
As someone who plays a lot of support, I'm torn on the state of supports. I love having income to actually build damage or tank stats. I hate not being able to have 5 pinks and 5 greens in the enemy jungle along with the oracles-until-you-die.
The Support role used to be "Get fed, win through vision/control." Now it seems like its, "Get fed, do the same thing as your top/mid laner."
when people talk about bad things in previous seasons, they are talking about unbalanced champions, items, etc. But the thing in season 6 is the loss of ranked integrity with the introduction of dynamic queue as well as obnoxious class uodates that brings 2~3 champions into broken state for no apparent reason.
and then refuses to nerf any champiosn but just make others more broken than the last
It's like League is becoming Dota. If I wanted to play that game I'd have left years ago.
This is the worst season ever in my opinion. My favorite seasons are 2 and 4.
I think this season is easily the best season. You get to queue with all of your buddies and play ranked. I think that's awesome.

MODERATOR; notice that this person brought up skill and implied lack thereof. I did not open this avenue I am simply clarifying. If you chose to punish me and not the above quoted, that is hypocrisy of the highest order and shows you are singling me out.
Alright that being said; "Poor play"? ahahahahahahaha. You are bronze chaos. I am Diamond Pride.
Your entire argument is complete garbage.

Yet you're the one whining about it. In Diamond. Where you probably play with a lot of the same people. You can't make any friends who want to play another game with you? Whether you're blaming your poor play on Dynamic from climbing in Bronze V or DIamond V, the point still stands. I imagine you're stuck in Diamond V because there's a pretty big skillgap once you get to Diamond IV and above.
Yet you're the one whining about it.
Making statements =/= Whining
You can pretend otherwise but reality does not bend to your emotion.
The rest of your comment is nonsense.
I would say whiny people who blame poor play on dynamic queue are the problem.
This logic is so flawed, Pretend some one duos with a platinum 4/3 and the person he is Duoing with is Diamond 2/1 chances are this platinum is going to get a carry role and tell me do you think it's fair for the dynamic duos team to be force to play with a platinum with chances are he will be Vsing a Pure diamond ranked player that actually got to his elo on his own?
Is it that much of a crime to want to play with your friends? Sure, Riot should have just had both Solo and Dynamic out right from the get-go rather than waiting a full year, but there's no need to take it out on someone who just has fun queuing up with friends.
Is it that much of a crime to want to play with your friends?
^ Strawman argument of the highest order. Doesn't matter if you followed up with something else.
No one ever stated "Remove team queue and dynamic queue" the argument from the very beginning, EVEN BY RIOT THEMSELVES, was that a secondary queue for solo/duo players would be added in addition to dynamic queue. The problem is, you have to use a strawman argument otherwise your argument is revealed to be garbage; Everyone would flock to solo/duo queue over dynamic cancer and we know this to be true so you misrepresented the scenario.
If you are going to present arguments , please don't try to peddle that tired bullshit.
"Everyone would flock to solo/duo queue over dynamic cancer " I disagree on this. Obviously I don't have any statistics on it, but I'm sure that there's a sizeable chunk of the community that really doesn't care about matchmaking being absolutely super even, and just wants to play in groups of 3+.
Now I know that you're Diamond, so that matchmaking is a much bigger deal to you; but I have my doubts that the average bronze/silver/gold player is all too concerned about it.
Do I think removing Solo Queue was a bad idea? Yes. Should Riot have done something MUCH sooner? Yes. Does that necessarily mean every single thing dynamic queue did was stupid and wrong? In my opinion, no.
S3 joiner here, yes.
Riot had some solid momentum in late 3 and throughout 4. Toward the end of 5 they started to lose it, and by S6 they've become a joke.
"Kled, the Noxian Meme"? "Who do you autolock"? What are you guys, thirteen? The kind of people, the kind of base social senses they appeal to are basically congruous with high schoolers and teenagers.
Meanwhile, the gameplay itself has come to be 'smash buttons, plan nothing.' The meta constricts builds down and down into cookie cutter formats, and cinches in on champions who can adopt alternative builds. Meanwhile, champions who don't need builds-- Ekko-- experience the kind of freedom that blows away lower-tier players and calls in for nerfs. Eventually, every champion starts to feel the same, a bit washed out and samey across the kit-- except the underperformers, who ironically have good ideas at the core of their kit if they could just get off the ground. They're usually so browbeaten by any competition, though.
Anyway, Season 6 is just trash and garbage. Which is fine, 2016 has been trash and garbage too.
Honestly I just want to see the old hex lady champ and we can wrap this up and go to 2017, where we'll see Riot start to steer this train off the tracks, and that silly notion of other MOBAs beating it out suddenly seems less silly.

This puts it pretty well. League went from a game about outPLANNING your opponents to "outPLAYING" your opponents. Beating people because you know the match ups better and correctly engage, focus or ward? Meh. Now it's all #mechanics for the 360 no scope crowd. Denial abilities are everywhere making the challenge not in playing smart but being able to play around whatever BS ability the enemy has to save themselves from their mistakes. In many cases it's harder to get around these things than to use them... meaning champs have to be mobile utility monsters to have a chance of defeating the enemy, who can usually escape his own failures at the push of a button.
That doesn't lead to smart thinking and clever plays, it leads to people acting like morons because they know they won't be punished for it so long as they're able to press R. I'm looking at you

I'd take this season over the cancer panther's one shotting spears, being silence locked into a 100:0 burst in 1 second, having gigantic 50 minute long wet noodle fights in the League of Tanks, FF ruining jungle balance, black cleaver bulldozing defenses, and all the other crap we used to deal with.

BC Talon doesnt count - that was preseason and was hotfixed days after. 60+% winrate talon was ridiculous though.
But Kass was perma ban for 3-4 seasons in a row.

No it wasn't. League of Cleaver was like a full month, if not even more than that.
Only played since season 3 but the cinderhulk era was the best. 4 outlier champs that needed to be brought into better alignment but the fact that every team had a great frontline and that there was an ebb and flow to fights instead of everybody getting one-shotted was awesome.
Too much snowball, too long games because the snowball makes one team play passive and stall out, too many stressful high damage champions. I'd agree. Then I remember nightmares like when Yi was actually good or when top lane basically consisted of only Renekton.
I play from February 2010. Love seasons 1-4. Season 5 was a bit meh, i remember i was demoted twice and had to climb again just because i didn't want to play. Season 6 is really bad. Looking at upcoming reworks and plants - season 7 is gonna be shittier.
This was the least fun I've had any season, and ive been here for them all.
yes. my memory doesnt reach far enough back to compare them all directly to each other, but it was the worst season by far.
second half of season 4 was pretty bad aswell. but this was even worse.
Played since Season 1. Basically every season is the worst season for some reason and every one is the best for some reason.
Ironically, people hate a lot of the stuff they'd praise Riot for in an earlier Season. My personal favorite season was....probably 3. Even then, I want to acknowledge that there is a lot of nostalgia bias around the earliest seasons because it's when a lot of people joined, as well as when League and the moba genre hit its peak.
The sad truth is every season has equally dumb stuff, even if you elevate one season over others. (BTW: Hours are a poor metric. 1400 hours in Season 3-4 means a lot less if you were in high school versus Season 6 when you're in college.)
In the words of Qtpie, "Yes"
I mean you say that you didn't like newer seasons and did like the earlier seasons but honestly, what do you even want to reach with that.
It doesn't help anyone if you say that you didn't like something and state nothing about why exactly you didn't like it and what you think can be done against it.
Just imagine a Riot employee from the balance team stumbles over this post. How is that going to help him with deciding what to do better in the next season and finding out what the players even want from him.
Im too lazy to type out all my concerns, already too much feedback
