Does anyone else think the Offense Mastery Tree noticeably outclasses the other two

Unless you're playing a support you're going at least 9 points in offense, and even then oftentimes a lot of these more mage supports go in the offense tree like zyra/velkoz/annie/karma etc; this isn't true with either of the other trees.

Most mages go 9 into the utility tree over the defense tree, and most fighters go 21-9-0, carries obviously go into the offense tree mainly with some points into defense, but none of the classes with the exception of a few supports ignore the offense tree

Even hard tanks go at least 9 points into offense because Butcher/Feast are so damn good for the laning phase

I think there's a few reasons why this is the case with the offense tree:

  1. The multiplicative damage scaling offered by 21-9-0 is INSANELY high when you have all the affixes, and it outclasses the defense multiplicatives pretty hard: 3% from the 21st point, 3% from spellweaving/bladeweaving, 5% from executioner, 1.5-2% from double edged sword, and all the other affixes
  2. Butcher/Feast are almost mandatory in the laning phase, pretty much any farm character will take these masteries
  3. Dangerous Game is the best mastery in the game currently, no exceptions

What are your guys thoughts?

I do on champs that get free stats like leona and taric but that's about it other than that all of my casters have like 9/0/21 0/9/21

supports* against poke vunerable lanes. So usually what I use on sona vs vayne and taric or thresh. So it's situational :P

Ohhh derp, well I usually only use 9 points on non supports A full defensive mastery tree is pretty useful. Sorry forgot, I did read it though. xD The support tree is massively outclassed and tailored only to support champs. So yeah, op is right if that's the case xD. But the offensive tree doesn't outweigh the defensive tree to any real extent. Both are really good trees.

I do 9-21-0 only on full tanks, on almost every other champion I do 21-9-0, even on bruisers that I build mostly tank because their damage scale so well with offensive points.

And even on some "full tanks" such as Sion and Cho'Gath (when I don't build AP) I like to go 21-9-0 because they have a lot of damage potential, they aren't like other tanks that are purely defensive-utility.

The "Enchanted Armor" mastery is ridiculously good on champions that build tanky, but otherwise there is little reason to go further than 9 points on defense. If you are using a bruiser champion, then it is not worth to go further just to get this mastery even though you are going to build tanky. The offensive tree is just too good to pass up.

On a side note, I like to go 21-9-0 on mages too, more than 21-0-9. I do this ever since the Meditation mastery has been replaced by Expanded Mind. I don't feel that there are much use on going for utility points unless you are a support now.

Well, they did recently nerf Oppression...

I do have a 0/9/21 page, actually. For Tahm Kench. Utility has its uses too, and I think offense seems too strong because most champions in this game are meant to be offensive, with most utility users being supports.

False. Defensive tree is the best now.

tank wise i fell the tank tree is weak for sure

Remember when Defensive Masteries where so strong that Mundo was picked in every game at some point during 4? They nerfed the defensive tree then and from that point the offensive masteries have been alot better.

if by "a few" you mean: Janna, Lulu, Sona, Thresh, Blitz, Alistar, Soraka, Taric, Leona, Braum, Nautilus, Nami, Bard, Tahm, then yeah

Even mage supports like Zyra or Morgana most of the times go 0-9-21 else tank supports will roll over you easily.
