its always worth getting, its always slot and gold efficient until like 60 minutes in. Last game a support sona built it and legit 2v1d me(fed nocturne) and my adc(14/8 vayne) she just ulted us both and then hit us with q, leaving me at half cuz and then my vayne died to her passive, I blocked her next q but she was almost outhealing my 400 AD build and then she finished me with q+ AA. like wtf?
Aeolian Melodies1 votesThere is no way in fucking hell even AP Sona drops Nocturne to half with Crescendo + Hymn of Valor alone, unless the Nocturne is glass canon and severely underfed (which you were not). A good part of her damage is tied to Lichbane-empowered Staccato, if she tossed it on Vayne there is no way she took half of your HP.
Considering that the Sona in your last game didn't even score a double kill, please stop saying bullshit.

its pretty much counterproductive. Why? Well he already has a passive on his Baleful Strike that nets him AP: Veigar permanently gains ability power every time he scores a takedown against an enemy champion.
Ability Power Gained on champion kill or assist: +1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 AP
Whenever Veigar kills a unit with Baleful Strike, he gains +1 AP, doubled to +2 AP against large monsters, large minions and champions.
Its much better for him to get a

Its passive is what really makes Veigar an AP nuker. So if Veigar has AP with just Q farm, say 100. 100 x 1.35 = 135. But since Deathcap gives him 120 AP: 220 x 1.35 = 297
Thus he does not require either or to make him powerful. They are probably best used on AP supports though much like in your example of what happened. Since they can quickly rack up assists in bot lane they can easily get those Glory stacks for lots of AP. Not every AP champion will like these: But I guess it also depends on the player as well.

Except there is no way it happened. There is no way Sona without 
1v2 a fed Vayne and Nocturne. What he says it mathematically impossible and does not even match what his match history states, the Sona from his last game didn't even score a double kill and didn't have nearly enough AP to heal as much as he stated.

I was just pointing out that, with that part that you quoted, they could be very good on AP supports since they can get assists for Glory stacks much faster. I'm not saying it was BECAUSE of that he and his teammate died.

Irelia Bot1 votesIf you didn't lose 10 stacks on death I would consider it but after having a few games where I was at or around 8 stacks and then got ganked over and over again until I died it just seems counter productive lossing 10 stacks at once.
Zair Umbras1 votesAP supports use it well because it's great at gold efficiency, but piss poor in slot efficiency. Given a support's low amount of gold, picking it up is great since no matter what it'll be worth it's weight in gold with you getting assists and kills often enough while being low priority on the kill list. Eventually you'd sell it for a Rabadons/Luden's or a Void staff, but that'd take a long game to do that with, which doesn't happen often.
