Someone who spams ARAMs to level 30 should not have gold elo in Summoners Rift normals...

I've been playing at low gold elo in normals for ages (based on what I see in games). I just had a game where a player on my team had fewer than 10 games on summoners rift. They had clearly spammed ARAMs to level 30.

I don't care what their win rate was in ARAMs. I've played a lot of ARAM. I know they give some skills, but laning is NOT one of them. The player was hopeless in laning phase and basically made the game miserable (needless to say, I was the ADC and they were the support).

Come on Riot... if someone gets to level 30 purely on ARAMs, you need to fix up the matchmaking somehow... At least make them need to beat intermediate bots before they go PvP on the rift...

people shouldnt use the term "gold elo" when describing normals. a "normal player" who has "diamond elo" isnt as skilled as a diamond, its just a term he uses to make himself feel skilled.

and please, for gods sake, stop complaining about matchmaking in fucking normals.

Well first, I'm gold in ranked too. The majority of people in my normal games are gold. There are some plats, there are some silvers. There are of course some normal-only players who are unranked. Overall though, that's about gold elo. I'm not saying it to make myself feel better, I'm saying it to give perspective of where a player who spammed ARAMs ended up in normal matchmaking. There's no purpose to the post if I don't indicate approximately what level of game the player was matched in.

And complaining about matchmaking in normals? I've had loads of imbalanced games in normals. Loads of games where one team has a diamond level player that carries hard and the game is a stomp. Heck, I should still be able to complain about that because it's unfun and normals are supposed to be fun. That's NOT what I'm complaining about though. I'm complaining about a player who in the match summary had 1 normal win, and had what was described in the OP, and who happened to get matched in to a game where I had the second fewest normal-wins with a 300-280 record (all others had 400+ normal wins). Why is a player with 1 normal win getting put in that match?

There's a difference between complaining about a stomp, and complaining about what is clearly a fault in the matchmaking system. A person who has barely played on summoners rift should not be matched with players who have 500+ games there. Even in normals.

its a known fact that ritos matchmaking is pretty bad and that its also probably pretty impossible to get a really good matchmaking in a TEN PLAYER GAME. even in ranked, the matchmaking is ridiculous because ofcourse they are all very similar RANKING but they are still all very different in SKILL, for whatever reason.

like even in normals if both teams have a diamondplayer then one of these diamonds will simply be better than the other one even if they are at the same tier. or sometimes a diamondplayer gets stomped by a gold/plat player because most diamonds are noobs too. its always luck-based and cant be prevented. just do your best and you'll be good. for example, you can use all your strength to shut down the diamond player and let your team handle the rest. or you can avoid the diamond at all cost and get fed on other noobs. many different ways to take on that problem and if you are smart enough, you can turn the stomp into a hard game for your opponents.

Then maybe he didn't solo queue and some other player on your team with higher MMR queued with him so that he got into the same game as you. Or maybe the game just didn't really know where he'd be since he'd barely played any normals. In either case, it's just a normal, don't make too big of a deal about one bad player on your team. Just move on.

Maybe he's a smurf and spamming aram is just an efficient way to rank up. I know that's what I've been doing on my unranked.
