Taliyah's and Grounded

Recently, Riot's implemented the "Ground" type of CC for Casseiopia as a test. I was wondering why they didn't add it into the rock-weaver's kit.

It would be way too much to ask that "worked" ground Ground opponents, but what do you guys think of the idea that her E ground opponents in addition to hurting those who attempt to dash? That would give it more strength against champions with blinks. (her biggest weakness, and often times a weakness for everyone on the team)

I don't see much of a point in giving the mechanic that punishes people for dashing another mechanic that also just makes it impossible to dash. Those do not synergize at all. All it does is degrade the current purpose of the E. There is no way that the "damage on dashing" mechanic is going to feel like an interesting an valuable part of the kit if the skill just prevents people from dashing.

It should do one, or the other. Grounding, or damage to dashes. Not both.

It would act like Poppy's W, but prevent any further attempts by anyone who has a refreshing dash (Lucian) or multiple dashes (Renekton and Ahri) unlike Poppy's W.

I understand your proposal for how it would work. I just don't think it's a good idea. The mechanic already has a punishment mechanic for dashing. That punishment mechanic is unique, but it will be undercut if you simply add a "can not dash" effect to the E. The mechanics overlap, and one overshadows the other. Having them both is redundant and makes both less interesting. Sticking with the current design is the better option. If we want her to be better against dashes, increasing the damage her E does to dashers is a more interesting choice.

That's the thing. I don't want her to be better against dashes because dashes aren't the mobility she's weakest against. The real problems are the blinks.

I don't think that's worth changing her for. Dashes are far more common than blinks, and blinks getting a bit of special treatment already has precedent (such as them ignoring Poppy's W). That's an acceptable weakness for an otherwise strong skill. It's definitely not worth changing the mechanic for.

I don't want her to be better against dashes

Your proposed change would do that though. Given how much more common dashes are than blinks, the primary effect of your change would be improving her against dashes.

There is not a problem with blinks being more resilient to getting countered than dashes. That's part of the strength of those abilities. I get the frustration regarding them, but I don't think that a change is really called for.

There is literally only one ability that can stop blinks as they're used, and that's Cass's Ground. And that is at a fixed distance.

I know. I don't think that's a problem like you think that's a problem.
