Should I pick up Illaoi? I don't know how mechanically hard she is, but I rarely top lane any more and every time I meet her mid-game she's either a joke or an unstoppable monster. I think i'd like to try one of those toons and I loathe Nasus.
Any advice you can offer is appreciated.

my advice is, eventually you should attempt to acquire every champ in the game. Owning every champ, and understanding their basic fundamentals really helps you out in all areas of the Rift.

I was getting there, but the Blue Essence change over screwed me.
5050BS1 votesWith Stormrazer she is not a bad pick top. It procs Crits on her W gives Movement speed and attack speed and a good amount of AD add in the New Essence Reaver and when she ults your W are fast.
remakoro1 votesShe is actually pretty fun to play. If you have a taste for tentacles. Considering that she had 0 CC and limited mobility in many games she can be completely useless after lane phase ends. But she is very fun anyway.
Shatter the Sun1 votesHonestly atm I wouldnt touch her. With all the adc's getting true dmg your resists become worthless. They mow you down before you can even get an E off. Without E your dueling potential drops significantly. I main her so I am not bashing her because I dont like her. She just doesnt have what it takes. If the game was more top focused then she could do some work. Her Tp ganks are trash.
Once the game goes past 30 min its almost a for sure loss to illaoi as this is when the ranged carries rip through everything with their team. Illaoi needs damage to be useful and with the way the game is going with true damage this and true damage that, you might aswell go full AD.
Doge20201 votesI am a firm hatter of the Champion Illaoi. As a nasus player Illaoi and teemo are the two most hated champs for me.
But I have tried her a few times. You want to walk near wall’s when your passive is up to drop a new tentacle. Good places are the two sides of either your tower or enemy’s tower. With tentacles placed there you can easily w a minion and q once and usually you will defeat the entire wave.
In the early game I think you should try an play around your passive tentacles. Then through the mid and late game you can transfer more towards relying on your ult for more hentai simulators
