Train the enemy to not see you as a target (for adc's)

I play in bronze, and sometimes I notice that if I go a few teamfights without really trying to do flat out as much dps as I can possibly do and instead be really safe and refuse to be killed no matter what, then the enemy stops seeing my character as someone they can kill and they start focusing my tanks. Over time, this allows me to slowly become more and more aggressive, laying down better and better dps.

This works even if it feels like we lost the fights where I didn't dps that much.

You are onto something here although as an ADC you SHOULD try to do flat out as much dps as you possibly can BUT you should prioritize safety, positioning, and staying alive above all else. You shouldn't really "train" the other team to see you aren't a threat, but you should be pretty untouchable behind a well played front line if you have great positioning.

^basically what you said just worded it a little bit differently.

I spent some team fights as an ADC literally never doing any damage, just surviving 2 or 3 of their members that are chasing me while my team kills them.

A well played front line is your tanky champs that are there to soak up damage and CC things so you can kill them. They should basically be a wall that if the enemy crosses (to get to you) they will be CC'd and in turn blown up by you.

A poorly played front line will do things like run through their team to try and attack or CC the enemy teams carries. (leaving you with just the peel from your support or no assistance at al).

The priority for ADCs are as follows:

  1. stay alive.
  2. autoattack nearest target.
  3. avoid being autoattacked.

These are in order.

if it was only that simple. its not man. I really don't care if Leona autos me. Its more like attack the people focusing someone else. or the nearest target. or just position well for a sec. then attack.

there's a reason you are in bronze and I am in plat. Perhaps you should take this as a tip instead of an attack.

I thought you couldn't ranked duo. I don't want a ranked duo. Just norm draft. I'm pretty sure u can duo in norms with anyone. Ive seen plat banners with bronzies.

its really much better to poke the tank (attack walk back attack walk back) when the enemy has a mind to engage on you. If you show them that you aren't the type of adc that goes full, stationary, ham on the tank during the first engage then they are much more likely to waste a spell on the mage or support and you can attack them while they are distracted and increasing their commitment to getting the support.
