It's no use making "fuck you Riot, we hate DQ" threads. It's here to stay. Let's fix it.

Riot knows they royally fucked up. It's terrible. They handled the DQ/SQ situation in probably the worst way. I hate it, much of the community hates it, but we are going to have to live with it and make the most of what we have. I think we should come together as a community and discuss how we can improve the DQ experience. I'd like to share some thoughts and ideas that we can discuss.

I watched the video as was happy with the direction that they appear to be heading for high Elo queues, but I was not completely sold on their plans for the 99 percent of the player base who are platinum 1 and below. I like the idea of high elo having a set of different rules that better caters to the type of environment that they are in and I think the DQ Developers should do the same for low elo. Allow for some rules to apply to the type of ecosystem that the players play in. Here are my suggestions for DQ rule changes in low elo ranked.

  1. Remove 4 man premades - similar to the rule in high elo about removing 4/5 man queue so solo players like Scarra don't have to play against the whole TSM roster in a DQ ranked setting and improving match quality. Removing 4 man queues in low elo would help improve match quality in a number of ways. Without the 4 man queue, the solo player can play freely without being flamed by the 4 friends (the 4 together are obviously not going to flame each other). Also, the 4 man is probably on coms, leaving the solo player out to dry of their plans. With a trio + duo scenario, the "solo player" at least now has a friend to to communicate with and hopefully with that extra feeling of support, they'd be more willing to communicate with the trio and vice versa. With a trio + 2 solos, the solo players at least don't feel left out of the party completely. Even better would be if in Champ Select, you can view the makeup of your team so that you know from the get go, who's solo and who's not and plan accordingly. Eliminating the potential 4 man + solo toxicity wouldThis would go a long way to helping the solo experience, while allowing for friends to queue ranked together and play.

  2. Small increase in LP gain for playing solo against premade - simple. Allow for the solo players to feel some achievement for beating a premade team of 2-3 or 5. This would help alleviate some of the frustration of playing vs a good premade with communications with a small LP reward at the end of the game. For example you can get + 2 LP for playing vs a duo and winning as a solo player or something of that nature. The ranked climb is already frustrating as it is, but adding a small LP bonus might motivate solo players to come together and communicate as a team, allowing for higher quality matches.

  3. allowing for all players to view their teams makeup in champ select - I alluded to this earlier, but this would be huge in terms of starting the game on the right foot and allow for players to see who's paired with who and allow for solo players to possibly find the other solo player and create a game plan from there. As an example, knowing that your trio on your team is bot lane + jungle, you can expect the jungler to be camping bottom side, so maybe with your other solo teammate you can pick good skirmishing/ roaming champions to help fortify your trio or maybe you both pick strong and safe laners, allowing for you to dominate lane, while allowing for your jungler to stay bottom side and help his friends out.

  4. in game voice coms - this idea has been talked about frequently and I like the idea of it overall, but I would use this feature as a last resort if things in DQ don't improve.

What do you guys think? Post ideas and discussion here, we don't need to flame Riot. They already know that they screwed up big time, but at least they finally opened the road for communication, let's use it and figure out a solution to the problem right now.

That's correct.

But if a game becomes something that is no longer enjoyable, you don't stay out of loyalty when the company has demonstrated they do not care about you (I.e. "We will add solo queue a few weeks after Dynamic Queue" ----------> "We will never add Solo Queue"). The "fix" is moving to Overwatch.

if riot didn't do what it does this game would've died already.

This does not help the discussion at all. If you want to leave and play over watch that's fine by me, but this thread is for discussion and finding solutions to problems. Parading around on the riot hate train doesn't help solve any issues at all. Give overwatch a year or two before blizzard fucks up and you'll be complaining then too.

  1. As much as I don't want to limit people when queing up for dynamic que I do agree with this point. I can't speak for others but I don't mind it when I'm with a que of 4 but so many people do and It clearly is creating some of the problems. I will come back to this at point 3.

  2. Not sure if I want this. I would rather they adjusted the average mmr and individual mmr of the solo players to be slightly higher than the opposing premades than implement an lp reward simply because the lp reward would be way to situational. When is it given out? Is it when you have only solo players vs a premade of 5 or 4? or does it go down to solos vs solos + duo or duo + trio vs trio + solos and is it only given to the solo players on the winning team or the whole winning team even if they have premades?

  3. I like this but it would have to be implemented carefully if not at least at the same time as the first point. I think the only problem that could arise from this is if you have one solo player and he notices he is with a premade of 4 and as a result we get more frequent dodges in champ select, harrasing etc from both sides because of it. Again though this could easily be solved with just implementing the first point at the same time and I see nothing but benefit.

Just my two cents.

I hope we can get a rioter to comment on these because I think some of these ideas could really help with the experience

Thanks for your input! I'll reply my thoughts. Basically, removing 4 man queues allows for all my other ideas to fall into place. Point 1 and Point 3 go hand in hand in my book. My thoughts on LP gain in point two would be individual gains. If you are queuing as solo, you have access to that gain, it's a pretty small bonus, but it will certainty help with climbing solo (I literally have 0 friends IRL in my elo so that is basically my only option) and help alleviate the pain of playing vs a 5 man premade and being stomped.

I'm just gonna silently and passively cry tearlessly in the corner; becoming bitter and jaded. I'll become one of those old guys who yell at young people for looking too happy.

Again though but if queing solo gives that bonus universally then what about games where is solo + duos vs solo + duos. They duos don't really have much of an advantage because they are only 2 and the enemy team has one as well. Along with the other changes it would discourage queing up with friends unless you have at least 2 or 4 but not 3 or 1.
