Why play Aatrox over Irelia, Xin or Jarvan?
He needs a rework to actually be an actually interesting character
Right now he is just a ball of random stats and generic fighter mechanics
Knockup? Check Slow? Check Sustain? Check AoE Nuke? Check

Just because a champion is strong doesn't make them brainless. Aatrox is incredibly easy to play.

Abyssphere1 votesI was thinking about him today, particularly his slow. It really is the laziest thing imaginable isn't it. "He should probably have some poke, and we need a slow somewhere" is so obviously what they were thinking when they made it.
He definitely needs a rework, he's an excellent example of why it's a good thing they take more time with champions these days.

But a lot of is clunky and uninspired.
E needs to just be a completely different ability that gives him some serious in combat battle power.
