Irelia should not call the player "Tyrant" when being banned. Here's why...
I was playing a few matches today and decided to ban Irelia, and upon doing so she says "Tyrant!" which I assume is directed toward the player banning her. I understand that this was likely done in good humor on the part of the Riot team members who designed the reworked Irelia, and that it fits into her character and lore, but I personally believe that this is out of place.
In our society today, there are groups of people who use very strong words like these to identify people or groups of people that they disagree with. Such words carry a very heavy literal meaning but are very loosely and immaturely applied to others out of anger and disapproval. My issue with this is that throughout history and in the world of today there have been literal tyrants, fascists, terrorists, dictators, etc. that do great harm to people and have negatively impacted our global society as a whole. It is a disservice to the true and literal threats to use these words in such a light and humorous manner, and desensitizing ourselves to the weight that such words carry will only harm each other further.
Again, while I understand the humor intended in giving Irelia this line during ban phase, I feel that it is improper and greatly out of place. There are tyrants out in the world among us today that many people fear speaking out against, and it simply isn't right to reduce the weight of a very real and immediate threat to mere humor.
What are thoughts that others have about this? Is this type of humor acceptable or uncalled for?
