League is not a Skill-base Game.

It's a Champion-based one. Skill comes second to the champions in a given game. For example, regardless of player skill Garen will never win lane against Fiora , unless the Fiora has absolutely no idea how to play. It's an unwinnable match-up, no playing around it. "Bring jungler help" isn't valid, as you're then condemning the jungler to have 0 pressure elsewhere on the map. It is a guaranteed lane win for Fiora. End of story, skill is not a factor. And while this is just one example of one matchup in one lane, the game as a whole follows this pattern. A team of 5 tanks will lose to 3 tanks and 2 carries, regardless. Thresh will always offer more options than the other support, Irelia will always be more meaningful than other bruisers. The idea that the loading screen means more than the 30~ minutes afterwards is insane, and with Mordekaiser being a walking 1v5 after his rework, it only seems to be getting worse.

Most retarded concept ever heard.

Knowing which champion will counter your opponent or offer more benefit to your team's composition is itself a form of skill. That's why you're allowed to choose from over 100 instead of 10.

And yet, roughly 20 champions are picked with any frequency in a given meta. Because those champions are objectively stronger in that meta, and will win more, regardless of player.

"unless the Fiora has absolutely no idea how to play"

Ummmm, wouldn't that mean that skill was more important in that instance? 3rd sentence in your whole argument, and you contradict yourself. :\

Anyway, there are matchups that are like that yes, but not a crazy amount. At least, not many that would really do too much. I mean, with top lane, you used be able to pick yorick into just about every match-up, win lane, but then lose because the other top laner had a better scaling champ. And just because you don't win lane, doesn't lose you the game. If the game was solely decided at champ select as you seem to think it is, abuse the fuck out of it and gain elo. Skill makes quite a big difference, especially in my elo.

Edit: And besides, if that were the case, league wouldn't have a professional scene.....

if u want skill based try Smite.

if you want champion based try League of Legends.

if you want objective based try Heroes of the storm.

played em all and they are same type of game, but their core goal are different.

Smite is all skillshot(even ur auto attacks are manually aimed)

League is (at same skill level) champion based.

Heroes is all about objectives (as in 1 objective can turn a 1 sided match on its head)

It is.

And it's based on the skill of the worst player in your team.

Bumping my own thread to reiterate something I experience every time I play this game; the winning team is determined in champ select. The teams with the more broken champs wins. Period.

It's insane because it's hilariously incorrect. You'll be lucky to get anyone responding with any amount of serious effort since your 'fact' is so wrong as to be considered bait on sight.

I'll be nice and at least link you to something relevant: On The Nature of Skill

You linked me to another Board's post by someone who's stance you agree with. Because that proves literally anything at all. Broken champs win games. A team with Ahri is always gonna have a better chance than one with Cassiopeia because Ahri is just objectively better. Jinx will outperform Caitlyn in nearly all cases because Jinx is simply better at everything Cait does. Wins are determined by the champs being played, not the people playing them.

If you're responding to me, I wrote the post I linked to. Also elo hell does not exist, there for skill is a determining factor in winning games and gaining rank, there for your post is flat wrong.

True. That's why there's so many brainless skilless Riven mains in high Elo.

ELO Hell does exist, because you are not the only player in the game, and broken champs and garbage teammates can and will hold players down. Therefore you're wrong, not me.
