Wont we reach a point with Ekko's state of balance...
Where we can't touch his Bases and Ratio's because then he'll just get dumpstered early and basically be feast or famine?

Riot: we are releasing a champion named Ekko, he will be a Utility Assassin. [zombie-brand-mindblown]

I mean Ahri's utility isn't toxic its just that she was overtuned for the loss of the 20% magic dmg increase on her E so i guess her???? i mean Leblancs chain is god awful it takes 2 flashes worth of leash range and is really on the edge of breaking game health
The only utility Ahri got is her single target charm & possibly slows if she buys a
. She's not want I would could a "Utility Assassin", hell she's not even an assassin anymore.
at least both spells don't go through minion waves and are not easy too land

Every ahri buys rylai's tho
Well, she's more like a kiting/poking mage than an utility assassin.

Yeah i guess that is a more appropiate label but i do play her more like an assassin but thats just my playstyle
Well that's because...

And it could be argued that Lee Sin shouldn't be there too.

List of utility assassins that haven't posed game health issues:
Ekko will be the first and last of is kind, utility based assassins should not exsist in this game.
People dont like to accept that an ''utility assassin'' is like an ''anti burst ADC'', an ''anti-kite juggernaut'' or an ''anti-CC Light Fight''.
Some things should simply never done.

Yes, but they have other weakness to compensate, like Kindred being an early cheese champion, Olaf being pretty much feast or famine and Fiora's Riposte needs both reflex and keeping up with the different CC of each champion. All those champions have moments where they can defy their classes weaknesses, but that is it, moments (Lamb's Respite, Ragnarok and Riposte all have short durations/windows and high cooldowns).
Ekko is an ''utility assassin'' building tank means he has assured damage and CC, and the tank build makes it so his kit actually works better. His CDs are so short, his damage as tank is most passive, constant applications and he has 3 slows and 1 stun.
Which means Ekko's ''moment'' of defying his class windows is inmense, if not basically eternal once he gets 2 tank items.
No, they can, Riot just doesn't understand how to do it. The way to do it would have been to have them be a support/assassin that has missing health damage in their kit while also having utility and low base damage. This means they would be very good at supporting but not at dealing damage unless someone else brings the enemy low.
if they released him into a utility diving fighter or initiator. as he is played tho less tanky. then we'd be at a good point. you can't have a utility assassin lol.
Then we touch his skills so that only one of them has any kind of slow or stun on it's own.
Like I and many others have said. Add utility ratios to ekko, so that AP ekko still gets his utility but Tank Ekko doesnt.
well, ekko is already feast or famin, going further down that road will just make the famin scenario more and more likely compared to the feast scenario...
The idea of an utillity assasins is just not really great, great cc with huge mobillity always is a very dangerous combination, especially if you have either high damage(ap built) or high tankiness(tank built) with it. It makes champs to snowbally because you as soon as they are ahead, you can't get anywhere near them as they can easily get to you with the mobillity and then lock you down with the cc. Tank ekko isn't strong cause off basedamages, his base damage is actually rather low compared to mao or nauti. He's strong because there is no way to ever get away from him, and between the slows and stun, it's also likely that his team will catch up to you as your going no where. It also makes it nearly impossible to ever kill him, with the tank built he can't really be bursted with cc, and his own cc+mobillity allows him to easily get away in nearly any situation.
Imo, no matter what, 2.25 sec stun on his W are way to much in his kit, and that it slows witout him triggering also isn't really neccesary. His Q slow and passive speed/slow also are just to high basevalues. They should go from level/rank scaleing to ap scaleing, which wouldn't influence his early on ap to much but help to get tank ekko in line and evt opens room to buff some of his base stats or abillities if he performs to weak with the lowered utillity.
Ekko isn't feast or famine. Because you can't be that feast or famine with that much utility. That's why nerfing the bases what straight out stupid: The reason why he was good is that super stun on a ~7 seconds cd...nerf THAT...nerf the passive slow, he is a utility assassin that has his utility overtuned and his damage repeatedly nerfed, so you get a utility ~~assassin ~~ tank with backline access.
even utillity focused champs can be somewhat feast or famin if their powercurve is heavily earlygame focused, atleast as sololaner. As a sololaner, just haveing utillity hardly is enough, unless really massive utillity, and even then it depends on the teamcomp. Ekkos utillity is certainly big for whts supposed to be an assasin, but it's not enough to carrie on it's own right later in. the stun while massive as very unreliable, and the slow requiers him to stick to the target to reapply it, which even for tank ekko gets hard to do later on in the game as carrie ramp up enpough damage to take him down rather quickly despite the tank gear. As a result, ekkos lategame teamfights aren't really great, as his overall damage is more on the low side and his utillity isn't all that reliable. though his biggest issue later on is his lowish base tankiness and the lack of damage with a tank built. A sololaner needs to either buy alot time or pack some damage on his own for lategame teamfights, tank ekko isn't that great for this. As a result, his winrate in the short matches is incredible high, as the basedamage of Q+passive do quite some work and he tankitemisation brings great 2-3 item powerspikes, while it's more scirmishes rather than full teamfights which goes in his favour aswell, since he's best chaseing down single targets, but from there on he falls of as his damage stops scaleing and his kit gets harder to ustilize in full teamfights, and tank gear gets outscaled by carries. If you have such a powercurve, you are somewhat feast or famin, as you have to use your early-midgame power and snowball of it or you fall of.
For jungle ekko, it looks differnt, as junglers aren't expected to offer to much damage/tankiness for teamfights, so what he offers on utillity and distraction is enough to funktion well even later on.
yes lets give a 1 champion a dash with a blink a reset button a 5 man 2 second stun a massive shield a slow AAAAND a movement speed boost if he hits you 3 times..
totally wont go wrong
They did it to Akali. No one cared.
Where we can't touch his Bases and Ratio's because then he'll just get dumpstered early and basically be feast or famine?
Did you mean:
Katarina was always like that because of her passive. Since the cooldown nerf on the passive she doesn't completely reset after 2 kills and for most people that played her that was the reason they played her at all : free resets leading to pentas leading to undeserved wins.
Katarina is not in a bad state, you simply can't faceroll and expect to win everytime.
True, she's not in a bad state, but there's literally no reason to pick her over anyone else right now. Want to get in, grab two kills, and get out? Just play LeBlanc.
How is Leblanc grabbing two kills and getting out?
QRWE Ignite, or QWRE Ignite, or even QWER Ignite. Getting out? Press Q again.
So one kill then- she's not one-shotting people with Q+R. People can bitch about LeBlanc all they want but they can at least be correct about it. She jumps in and gets one person.
Lategame, you can easily delete two squishies with a full combo, depending on the MR in their builds.
Ekko is a jungler. His early game is irrelevant because he's not dealing with aggression or poke.
AP Assassin Ekko became feast or famine a while ago. If he falls behind the only thing he has going for him is his stun and being slightly annoying in fights but if he gets ahead he basically 1 shots you with E and 2 autos and pentakills your team with his ult.
move ekko to the jg might be a good bet.
Where we can't touch his Bases and Ratio's because then he'll just get dumpstered early and basically be feast or famine?
If that point ever comes riot should simply remove ekko althoughter and use parts of his kit for future champion/reworks. Of course they won't do it because they would rather have another one champion noone plays than admitting their failures. and boy, riot has been failling alot since season 4 onwards.
I rather Deal with Tank Ekko than Tank Fizz..
Yes we will. And even then, people will still not stop complaining about him.
That's why they're attacking his kit by making the non damage parts of his kit scale with ap like the stun or movespeed.
Tbh, people keep saying he should be nerfed such that he has to build AP to deal damage. I would contest that AP Ekko still isn't the pinnacle of healthy design making decisions.
Could just always get rid of Ekko's shield. Seriously, either his shield or heal, get rid of one and DO NOT compensate buff the other for it. He is meant to be an assassin, he needs to be squishy and be at risk when engaging.
I'm waiting for the point where Ekko's abilities heal enemies at first, and all have 2.0+ damage ratios. Because that's the direction he's going.
