To all you that say its impossible!

I freaking did it!! I tilted all the way to silver 5 with 0 LP almost getting demoted to bronze 1 numerous times. How did i do it? I played my freelo champs. The 1 in particular, Amumu. 84% winrate 32 games.

Dont flame your teamates, keep the moral high. Enlighten the team of how you envision a comeback if you guys are losing. And ward. For all you struggling in silver.. if i can do it.. so can you. JUST DONT FLAME YOUR TEAM. Get past laning phase, win team fights. !!!

GOOD LUCK FELLOW SILVER FRIENDS I WISH YOU THE BEST!

Whoever says it's impossible doesn't deserve to get any higher as they don't understand the basics of the game yet (except maybe mechanics). A g3 or higher can usually consistently get to g5 fairly easily. Just focus on improving your "bad" and "meh" games, staying alive, and taking objectives. If you have even decent mechanics, you'll get there fine. Too many times I see people say they deserve to be gold, yet I spectate the matches and check their history...they usually only play a gold-level in 50% or less of their matches. If they played more consistently then they'd make it fine.

Learn to win games even when you lose lane, and learn when to help your loosing lanes. If you win top and mid or bot feeds, that's your problem. Check plat+ matches - they'll trade a turret or similar to 3 or 4 man gank a lane and get shutdown gold so they can get back into the game, and hopefully get that fed champ tilted.

Get past laning phase, win team fights. !!!

This more than anything else. Way, WAY too many people think that whoever wins laning phase is entitled to win the game, and that's just not the case.

Dreadlocks5 votes

Yeah man, laning phase means nothing in silver, as long as the team isnt feeding and you have a superior team fight comp.. You will win almost every time, which is why i win so much with amumu. XD

Riven Leblanc Akali Rengar

If these guys get fed in the laning phase, you lost the game.

Agree to disagree.

OK dude, i've seen you on the forums for a while, and didn't wanna say anything.

But holy shit you are showing your bronze right now lmfao

Ok then, tell me what you do when a 6/0 Leblanc gets rolling. Help me out a bit, obviously I need it.

Rinky Dinky12 votes

1: Position Well

2: Don't feed her kills yourself

3: If you have a lead, seek out a situation in which you can shut her down

4: Don't ignore her. Respect her presence.

5: Don't get all pissy just because she's fed. In this meta, Leblanc cannot solo carry a game. Respect her powerspike, keep in mind she is a mvp, but do not start crying just because she is ahead

6: If she is truly the only threat on the enemy team, and it is feasible to do so, itemize against her. Here are some excellent examples for various champions: item 3105 item 3001 item 3102 item 3155 item 3174. Some are even core on certain champions.

7: Fight around your strengths and the enemies weaknesses. In Leblancs example, she is excellent in skirmishes, but does not excel in 5v5's. So? Force teamfights! Don't go into an area without vision unless you KNOW your safe OR can fight her, or anyone else on her team, solo!

8: If you specifically struggle against champions like Leblanc Akali Rengar Riven, find and learn a champion whom does well against them. My problem was riven, she pissed me off to end! But I didn't just cry about it, I did my research, and found a champ whom I can use against her that fits my play-style (Garen). Consider changing your play style in responce to who you struggle against

9: Don't flame the fucker who fed her. This is suicide.

10: If you yourself are the one who fed her (It happens), itemize against her, and try to help out your team when you can without dying any further (unless necessary).

Edit: Looks like I wasted time. RIP ME

I'm bronze too and can definitely say leblanc is much weaker than she used to be a couple of patches ago

I am literally at the Brink, i climbed so much over the last week but have actualy had...well... Thresh mid on my team. But i will join you shortly :D NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE- JUST, DO IT.

Dreadlocks4 votes

Thats the spirit man. If their is 1 thing i learned from silver 3-gold5 its, dont flame your team for mistakes. Also if they do something off meta, dont give them a hard time for it.. just try to play around it. Pick in the champ select around it. Can't win them all but if you go into a game with the mindset you are going to lose.. you probably will.

DON'T LET YOUR DREAMS BE DREAMS!

Rueian5 votes

Its pretty impossible. People dont like working together. Have a combo centric team - team doesn't group Ahead by 2 dragons and 4 towers, team bickers about literally nothing, dont ward, dont group, and get picked off.

Dreadlocks8 votes

But i just did it!!! So it is possible.. and i was in silver for nearly 2 full seasons.

Rueian1 votes

I barely hit gold last season, and with how my teams are acting right after i made it into silver 1... i'll probably be silver 2 soon people just dont focus on the prize.

Joquan3 votes

I was in your boat.

I started ranked during the pre-season. I was in silver I and it took me 14 times to reach gold V, and later I made it to gold I during pre-season.

I'm gold 2 now and I realized I was just shit. You need to improve if you want to pass the border.

Me improving doesn't improve my team

Me improving doesn't improve my team

if you are part of your team, it does. you are one part, but that's enough to make a big difference. it's like if you played at bronze 5, you could carry that.

Rueian1 votes

I actually doubt i could hard carry bronze games. I'd be too frustrated.

Mylon Requiem3 votes

That's your own lack of ability and patience, and not your team's fault. If you're in Bronze or Silver, so is everyone on the enemy team. The teams are not horribly stacked in ranked, it just feels that way sometimes. The truth of the matter is, you are the only consistent variable across all the games you play, and that's the name of the game: consistency.

If you want to hard-carry games, learn how, instead of automatically assuming it's not possible.

Dreadlocks3 votes

It does.. Even if its small improvements.. its an improvement. You need to find a way to make as much of an impact as possible. Thats why a lot of high elo players say, pick an assassin, win laning phase and shit on everyone with your farm. This can work and i'm sure it does. For me it wasn't about getting a bunch of farm and shitting on everyone.. it was getting a good engage and holding every1 in place for my team to shit on them.

If you improve, you will notice a difference.. Maybe not right away, but it WILL show.

Rueian1 votes

Engage doesn't work... that requires your team to follow up... no one likes to group. Assassins are great for picking people off, but when your enemy is a 5 man gank squad and your team refuses to group or counter push after someone gets picked off... there isn't anything a solo person can do.

Dreadlocks4 votes

Are you really gana argue that it doesn't work.. I legit made half this post about how Amumu got me to gold.. lol.

Rueian1 votes

people wont follow up.

Dreadlocks4 votes

Then perhaps you are not engaging @ a time your team can follow up.

Anidan2 votes

I find this is the most frequent problem here. Especially in lower elos where people aren't paying proper attention to their team, so they don't know what abilities of their teammates are down, they don't pay enough attention to their allies' mana, etc.

My friend specialized in the tank meta, and has profited since then, and one of the things he had to do was learn when he could engage properly. Whether by looking at his allies' resources, locating enemy champions, and determining whether or not his team was in a position to be able to follow up successfully or if that enemy was able to jump straight on the carry uninhibited.

Usually when people don't follow up, it's because they recognize a fear that could screw them over that you aren't accounting for. When you learn to account for what scares your ADC, your assassin, your APC, etc., then you'll be able to make more consistently good engages that people will follow-up on.

Amumu is not freelo. People just don't know how to splitpush, they pack their bags and move to mid lane the moment either tower falls bot and that's exactly what Amumu thrives on.

With all respect, you are bronze 4 with 0 games played with amumu, I have an 84% win ratio with him and i made it to gold mainly due to him. So how are you gana argue that a champion that worked for me isn't good enough to carry? I'm not saying every1 can get out of their division with amumu, everyone has their own champion that they excel and win with. Mine was Amumu, my freelo.. was Amumu.

Don't bring rank into this. I rarely play ranked check my history, i'm in my promos and of the 10 or so games I have played in the last couple of months I have won at least 8 of them. In normals I always get matched up against silver and gold, I don't play ranked because of the stress and there isn't enough time left in the season for me to get to gold so I probably won't play another ranked game for a while. I'm just saying that in this elo where people start mindlessly camping mid the moment they lose or take a tower Amumu makes it too easy for his team to get a lead. In coordinated play where people know how to bait his ult or splitpush and deny 5v5 teamfights, he falls off considerably.

this post is all about ranked and how it is possible to climb using what you are good at. me playing at bronze 3, I was playing shen and just running around and won since other team would actually waste their time each game and lose drags and towers. this happened a few times when I was playing shen.

the truth is, you can really carry with any champ, it's just a matter of what works best for you.

Dreadlocks4 votes

Thank you kind sir.

Joquan5 votes

Everyone has their own freelo, for you its Amumu, for me, It's Sejuani, Nasus, and Ezreal.

Dreadlocks1 votes

I told my friend that Sejuani is a lot like amumu. They serve a very similar purpose, Engage on as many people as you possibly can and win team fights, not laning phase. Keep it up bud looks like you are doing very well yourself XD

TurquoiseYoshi1 votes

Sej and Amumu are my two favorite junglers. There have been too many times where I've won laning with them despite that not even being their main strategy, just because I'm good as them. Sadly, they're getting gutted with the Cinderhulk and Armor nerfs, so I'll probably have to find a viable new choice.

Dreadlocks1 votes

yeah those changes are making me salty.. I wana say theirs a chance they wont go through.. but we all know riot..

While Amumu is strong in lower divisions by your own description he is not freelo. Freelo means that when ANYONE plays that champion they will automatically gain at least some elo, you said yourself that it was specific to you which means you just have skill with him.

Freelo = free elo, hense MY FREELO !!!!!!!!

I'm Level 28 right now.

I'm aiming for Gold 5 by the end of the season.

LET'S DO THIS!

I've gotten to plat 1 with 20 fps and 100 ping.

imagine if i had a real weapon 8^)

Dreadlocks2 votes

Lol, i know sm1 whos plat 5 who has fps problems. He says its fine until a team fight breaks out, then it drops to like 10 frames haha. Guess it works out that he mains top and usually plays Nasus xD

But yeah man, Kudos to you, i whole heatedly find that impressive.

iainB853 votes

I did the same thing with Vladimir .

Been gold the last two seasons -- was going no where fast in Silver IV this season. Put on my try hard pants and spammed Vladimir (good pick because he can easily go top or mid so you can be more flexible in getting your main).

Got gold within a few weeks -- now back to playing champions for fun. ;)

Dukues1 votes

lol xapex I went to lookup your Amumu stats quick and was wondering why it said you were still in Silver 4. Took me a second to realize your name was xapexpredator instead of apexpredator. But Kudos to you, that scub is only S4 your G5 hehe.

You and I both have 3.1 k/d/a. Can I get my G5 already? Lol :p

Dreadlocks3 votes

i have a 5.07:1 KDA with Amumu xD but I strongly feel you can do it man.. Just remind your team you have a really strong team fight comp and ask them nicely to just try and get their farm and make it out of laning phase. Don't say shit like "stop feeding" "If you quit feeding I will carry you in team fights" that is a toxic way of asking a player to play safe. Just say "make it out of laning phase and grab as much CS as you can and I think we have a superior team fight comp and we can make a comeback." If you are confident you can make good engages for your team. You will win.

Too bad Gold, Silver, and Bronze are all extremely similar, and you're lying to yourself thinking Gold V is some kind of paradise compared to Bronze/Silver.

Whenever somebody asks me "hey, what are you, a Gold player, doing her in a bot game (warming up/testing lag)?" I always respond "funny you should say that because Gold players (players actually at this average skill level, not players who just so happen to be there after 20 or 30 ranked games) are fucking BAD". There is too much credit given to specific League rankings.

Dreadlocks3 votes

Everyone has their opinions.. I'm not expecting it to be paradise by any means.. its only 1 rank up from silver 1. Its legit a milestone for me and nothing more. I made my goal.

Mylon Requiem2 votes

Well, at least you're guaranteed the skin at the end of the season, right?
