Just a reminder about ekko

He has flatlined at a slightly under 50% ration in soloq, and has a meh winrate in the lcs too... but, of course, riot is going to listen to the circlejerk and gut him again...

Thanks, GnB, for ruining a great champion with the one of the highest skillcaps in the game as well as tons of counterplay

Riot, if you see this, I would ask you to take a look at him before you nerf him again... EDIT: OFC teh circlejerk downvotes me because i am not allowed to make legit points

I think he will be more resilient than that. I hope that he will be more like Rek'sai who, after seeing constant nerfs remains a viable pickup. And the Fact that he has tons of utility makes that somewhat more likely.

He's over tuned, but not Oppressive. Even with a long ass stun, it's balanced around it's unreliability.

Just for perspective: Ryze is considered must-ban in LCS, but peaked at 51% win-rate. In 5.11, when everyone was adopting the "OP" pro build that is "OMG perma-snare at level 8, nerf it to the ground" has a win-rate of 48% (in the bottom 10 of top laners).

yes, but ekko has the same winrate in lcs too

Ekko is like Yasuo. He seems fairly easy if you are good, but a large amount of people aren't good enough with him to merit a nerf.

He's a champion that shouldn't be IMO.

He's not over powered, but you have to admit that it's ridiculous that an assassin is allowed that much utility. He can get away with a lot if people don't know how to play against him, but he can get absolutely wrecked if people do. Riot does not know how to create assassins in this game, and Ekko is a perfect example of that.

He should have a different role or something. I think he'll remain a viable pick for people who want to play him, and I think the threads calling for him to be nerfed will die down shortly after the new champion is going to be released.

what does that even mean... if hes not overpowered, hes not overpowered That's like saying nautilus is op because he is tanky That's his thing

Except it's not. An assassin should not have all of that utility, and it can be tricky for some to play against. People equating him to something like Leblanc with silence are ridiculous because he is not oppressive in that way. I don't consider him the strongest pick for that role because there are far more effective champions. A similar assassin champion with some utility would be Fizz, and is probably a much better pick if that's how you like to play. I think assassins as a whole need to be looked at more closely by riot though.

They tried to give him more utility by sacrificing how oppressive assassins can be. It created a champion can feel just as toxic to play against, but not hard to shut down.

toxic? maybe The thing is, there aer WAY worse offenders Tteemo comes to mind but because he is not good, ppl dont QQ about him...

That's not the point. The point is it was not a good idea to give an assassin that much utility because they will always get a lot of negative feedback. Assassins already do for being oppressive, which Ekko really isn't, likely because he was given so much utility. They just cancel each other out when trying to balance him. High utility assassin should not be a thing because it does not work out. That is unfortunately what Ekko was made to be.

People look at his kit and see a high mobility champion with stuns, shields, slows, dashes, blinks, etc. and it freaks them out. You can't blame people for having that reaction because it is ridiculous. It can be very annoying to play against. However he is not an oppressive force like all assassins and pseudo assassins are, so it makes you think twice about choosing him when you get over his gimmick. Other assassins preform the role much better, and their snowball is more effective.

He needs a rework, not a nerf.

I'm aware of that. Assassins with high utility does not work. That's why many people are saying he's broken. Broken champs get reworks when they are not effective in their role. A high utility assassin will either be over powered or not as effective as their peers. It was not a good choice for them to design him that way.

And? Winrates don't matter. He's just extremely anti-fun to play against..
