Why is it so hard for supports to get lvl 7 ?

I only played support in ranked this season and I literally didn't get a single lvl 7 token. You can't say I'm garbage because I have a 65% win rate on Soraka. It's just dumb that I couldn't get a single token throughout 40 games. I mean, I had scores like 0/3/35 and i got an S-... Because that's an alright game, right ? It's stupid that I get annoyed by this, I climb anyway, that should be a sign of my skill, but still I don't understand that grading system. Don't tell me to ward more, because I literally always gotta have 3/3 wards placed and a pink.

You use the exact same build every game. Have you tried building some AP for higher heals and damage? More Q damage also means you can clear waves better for more CS; some of these things could be where you're lacking.

Redemption is broken so you have to build it, but ardent censer gives 60 ap and if you check my runes, I'm all bout that AP. 15 ap quints and the rest scaling ap. But that's my point, I'm a support and I have over 50k healing done almost every game, why would I need to do dmg too, that's why the system is dumb for supports.

The system isn't dumb for supports. It compares you to other Sorakas (like in your case). In the example you gave you would have needed to have no or 1 death at max to get an S because she is played so utterly safe.

It's not, I have plenty at rank 7. You just need to understand how the system works and game it. Also wards barely matter. I almost never ward personally and get s and s+ very often. Instead, play less passive and increase your damage output/cs. That's the lever that most supports miss so it's the easiest way to pump your rank to the next level.

Think of the grading system like this, there are a series of categories for you to score in. Score above average in enough and it boosts your rank. Thus, the mathematically optimal strategy is to pick the categories that are easiest to outdo the people you are being compared to in, while still doing at least average in the others.

But that's my point. Why would I need to ks my teammates in order to get a better grade on a fuckin' support ? It's dumb. I play only Soraka and people are thirsty for that star child and I still don't feed. One game I had over 80k healing done. 80 fucking thousand healing done in a game and I got A+ or some shit.

Once you are above a value adding more doesn't matter. That's why wards don't matter much either. Most folks don't ward so trinket alone gets you above threshold.

It's not ks, it's kill secured. Get out of that mindset that it's somehow bad to take kills. Because it's not. Dead is the most important thing. Trying to leave kills for allies is about the dumbest thing you can do outside of an organized group because the only variable you can control is yourself.

Besides that, the game compares you to other Soraka players. So if they ARE doing that, which a lot of us support players are to get better S ranks, then that sets the bar for the rest of you to have to do too or you won't be able to match our score and get the same rank. That's one of the flaws of a comparative system.

I don't give a shit if I take kills or not, but like I said, I only play Soraka. If others Soraka's are in front line and taking kills, then they're doing something wrong. I just ended a game where everybody focused me and I still managed to press redemption, locket shield and R before I died and my team cleaned up that shit end ended the game. It's dumb that "I didn't do dmg" so no token for me. I healed my whole team for 1k++ and shielded them for 600 dmg and that is MUCH MUCH BETTER than doing a little bit more dmg. Thus, the system is dumb for supports.

Nah, Soraka can do plenty of damage in lane. Obviously you aren't going to in team fights, but coming out of lane you should have more damage done than your midlaner. Note, I'm not checking your matches to see if you do or not, so, feel free to say so if you do. But if you arent, that's why you aren't quite scoring S/S+.

You should also be putting damage down on npcs, because total damage matter too. I like to chunk random spells into Dragon/Baron pit to boost my damage every time I pass them. It can make the difference between S or S-.

Remember, it's not "do tons of damage", it's, "do more damage than the typical Soraka".

It's also not dumb for supports because you are only being compared to the same champion in the same role, other support Sorakas.

Do damage Get kills Poke, poke, poke, poke, poke, poke, poke, poke Heal, heal, heal

When I go support, I try to secure some kills in-lane, but definitely out of lane. It makes a difference if you want an S

I'll go Lux (whom I went from M5 to M7 in about 3 days), from securing kills and having a strong damage output with high kill participation. Same if I go any mage support (Lulu, Xerath, etc)
