Remove the sightstone

I'm really tired of marksmen horking on me for not getting a sightstone when I play support. In my opinion, and due to my play style, I think sightstone is a huge waste of gold and an item slot. My reasoning is because you are only allowed to place 3 wards on the map at a time. If you upgrade your trinket, you remove the need for a sightstone. I find the cooldown is adequate and I am able to have 2 wards on the map at a time with ease. I refuse to waste an item slot for one more ward. If every teammate upgrades the trinket, then buying a sightstone is pointless. After all, this is a team game, and warding is something everyone should do.

I vote we remove sightstone so that the ignorant marksmen with get off my ass.

But if you Get a sightstone, you can carry item 3341

That will allow you to not only place wards, but stop enemy wards.

You need as many wards as you can, as early as possible. Teams need at least two Sweepers, you want to upgrade yours to Oracle's Lens as soon as you hit 9.

Your first recall should net you a Sightstone and a Sweeper. If you are blue side, add a pink to that list too. GST can only be upgraded past level 9, that's well past the 15 min mark for a support.

Of all of the roles in thy typical meta, you should expect that the Support needs to be the least selfish. Your role is more than to protect and secure kills for your carry. While I agree that your team should also be more willing to take up some of the responsibility providing vision and control around objectives, this is pretty much a part of your job description.

How about an alternative, ... What if there were more options to what Sightstone can be built into? There is of course the current option of Ruby Sightstone, but that doesn't really help champs who don't need the additional HP. What if there were options similar to how the current jungle enchantments work. One makes the support more tanky (like Ruby sightstone), one grants improved movement speed, one grants mana regen, ... etc

No. You shouldn't actually be buying the upgraded trinket as support. The "wasted" item slot doesn't matter because you rarely reach full build anyway. You should be replacing your warding trinket with a Sweeping Lens, so that you can deny their vision and ward constantly without hurting your poor income even more.

... I can say i don't play ad but playing any role with vision is incredibly important. As support you are the best spot to put a vision item on while your carries get dmg items. Everyone should buy wards but having an item that gives health and free wards makes supports and even supportive junglers stronger. This also allowing them to not constantly have to buy wards taking up the same spot that you don't want to lose. If you're serious and not trolling these are very simple and noteworthy reasons why sightstone will never be removed. Although, they may make some changes to allow more wards on the map at time with sightstone. If patched, it won't be for a long while, vision seems to be balanced with the small nerf to removing vision by removing oracles elixir a long time ago.

Also having a sightstone allows you to actually set up for taking objectives, placing three wards or more rapidly to secure vision.

Trinket only allows you to carry 2x wards and forces you to wait for the cooldown.

You really don't get the role of support do you? You're supposed to get a sightstone for map coverage. If you know where the enemy is you can set up where they arent and steal drag. Get that in your head man...

I mean really, this is just a matter of prefernce... If you play ranked, and you play to stay in Bronze level play, then you should continue to avoid the purchase of a sight stone.

OP - I honestly don't have anything nice to say. My suggestion - you need to work on your vision game. When a support has less than 10 wards dropped in a game something is SERIOUSLY wrong with their play.

Sightstone is vital for those of us who actually play this game rather than troll our teams with horrible logic.

Vision control does not mean there is a trinket ward in the bush.........

I find my self having to go back to base more so because i'm out of wards than anything else as support. I wish the sight stone let you place 4 or 5 (ruby) wards down as a unique passive.

Hang in there bro. I totally agree with you on this, and i never buy sight stone as a support. Sometimes players complain but don't worry about it. I've climbed to diamond by only playing support and never buying sight stone with a 65-75% win rate, i didn't even buy sight stone before the trinket upgrades.

Don't get me wrong, it's a good choice to get sight stone, but if i skip sight stone, i can go straight to mobility boots and roam and start getting my team fed. With that strategy you don't need more wards than what you get from the trinket. Most players won't agree at all, because "they get sight stone in LCS". In LCS vision is much more important, and everyone buys wards in LCS.

I'm not saying either way is better, but for me, skipping sight stone really helps my win rate a lot and that's all i care about.
