[UNPOPULAR OPINION] Riot should consider remove Zzz'Rot Portal [BRAVE POST]
Wew lads am I about to get buried in downvotes teehee wow
Alright, but for real, before you go on a tantrum about how it's strategically unique, has trade offs and the likes; understand I'm not denying any of that. It does provide a different element to the game and it's one of the few duo resist items in the game, though new locket does offer a nice combo to that. It doesn't provide health and the item itself has a lengthy cooldown.
But that's not my issue. My issue with the item is how metashifting it becomes. I've been seeing it more and more and it's occurred to me, we are likely swinging back to a tank/bruiser meta where zzrots are 2nd/3rd items again. My problem with that is if the enemy buys a zrot, you are basically forced to have to buy one as well to offset its pressure. Otherwise you absolutely get overwhelmed with pressure one tower at a time for trying to make across the map plays.
The other element I don't like is that there's never a bad time to buy the item. The one who completes it first will have a slight advantage but it's always a good buy. The item never truly falls off but it's also good early as well.
These things really bother me. And I know we overuse the fun word a lot, but it's true, it's really not fun to play against (or with for that matter). We're already in a pressure heavy meta where lane phases are almost non existent. And when zrot becomes meta, it really does shift what you can play and get away with because of you buy someone who it doesn't have a natural synergy with (i.e. desire to build it in the first place), that champion is inherently at a disadvantage.
I would like to see another duo resist item maybe another edition of zrot but less shifting/game breaking. I think the theory of the item is cool but it really is way too game changing and I don't think it is in a good way.
Thanks for hearing me out of you got to this point. Have a wonderful holiday and be safe out there.

, in which case it becomes a strategic problem you had to accept the moment you picked your champion.
