About Evelynn changes...

Passive - Shadow Walk COOLDOWN ON ENTERING STEALTH 6 seconds ⇒ 6/5/4/3 seconds (at levels 1/6/11/16) W - Dark Frenzy REMOVED: GOTTA GO FAST Spell hits no longer passively grant stacking movement speed NEW: ULTRA RAPID FRENZY Spell hits now lower Dark Frenzy's cooldown by 1 second

These were the Eve's changes from patch 5.6. To Riot's Credit, the lower stealth is a nice thing to have. Being cloaked during a recall or just generally allowing you to activate W without being exposed for too long is valuable.

But, as for the W changes... I think Riot missed the mark here. In context, they want Eve to be stronger in shorter bursts rather than extended fights, and using the lower passive cooldown and new W passive to chunk foes before running away.

However, this doesn't really work in practice. Eve's detection range is 700. Her Q and E are 500 and 300 range. This means that Evelynn usually has to burn Dark Frenzy's cooldown to get in range for her other spells. Dark Frenzy's cooldown is 15 seconds. Later on, that cooldown is going to be shorter of course, but even so, it's still too long to enable the hit and run playstyle riot wants Eve too have. Reducing W's cooldown by 1 second on spell-hits is not enough for it refresh quickly enough for Eve to run away after she engages. If Riot wants to have this playstyle work, more needs to be done. Maybe consider having auto attacks reduce W'S cooldown, or perhaps making spell hits reduce the cooldown by a more significant amount, or maybe decrease W's base cooldown.

And also... Losing that passive movement speed really hurts Eve more than one would think. It allowed her to stick and/or kite without having much CC in her kit, but now she doesn't have it anymore.

Obligatory Evelynn .

EDIT: Eve's passive movement speed buff has been reapplied on PBE, without taking the cooldown reduction on spell hits away as a bonus. We did it!

Not as easy-to-play and non-freelo champions are awesome and I agree, I enjoy "handicapped" champions too especially those who play them frequently and do well at them and I agree with your statement that she's not as mobile as she should be. Hopefully Riot will see your post.

Bump for justice!

And also because Eve's got the touch.

Evelynn

Well I don't play on-hit Evelynn so I don't really feel the nerfs.

Adrian Umbra2 votes

Unless you built Rylai's or FM, you probably felt the nerfs. IMO they're pretty noticeable, whether you built on-hit or not.

OperationDEEZ11 votes

Yeah that explains it, I always build Rylais on Evelynn. Boots are usually swiftness or mobi

Riot has absolutely no fucking clue how to deal with stealth. A lot of players also can't be arsed to learn how to deal with it either. Don't expect anything for Eve until they do yet another rework and end up removing stealth from her.

Evelynn is fine. If they rework her, i quit the game.

If she was fine, this problem would not exist

I am sorry to inform you, they are planning a complete rework, visual and kit similar to Sion. Now granted, they have no clue about what to do, so I would not expect it anytime soon, but it is planned. http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/s3Ae7ec8-champion-updateiupdate-13015?comment=00040000000000010000

They'll might rework her other abilites, but as stated by a Rioter Evelynn is the only champ who will ever have, and continue having perma stealth.

I don't even know why her stealth is considered "too oppressive". Of course she can roam more freely, and offers a lot of pressure early game. But so does Shaco, and Twitch, and Pantheon with her R. In fact, you can see Eve if she's nearby, you can actually react before she engages you.

And let's not forget the fact that she loses too much HP early in the jungle, for a champion based on sustain damage early game, that's a big handicap. Something like Brand can easily burst her down as fast as she approaches him.

Agony's Embrace - ACTIVE: Evelynn impales all enemy units impaling, that would hurt a lot and they should get stuck in the place for more time. imagine if her ultimate would root enemies?

I don't understand the hit and run idea at all. If she gets the reset, why should she use it to run away instead of further chasing? She can use it for both, but the playstyle doesn't change, because of this change.

If she gets the W reset, it is a buff, if not, it is a nerf. If she gets the reset depends primarily on how much CDR you buy, and how much enemys you hit.

The problem is Riot sees her as still a burst type champion.

Except she doesn't have killing burst.

She has decent burst.

But then has to rely on DPS...

Eve is one of my favorite champions. And I'm not playing her anymore because I'm really sick of random changes to her kit, sincerely. She was in a good state and the only thing she struggle with was the first clearing. I haven't tested her with the new changes, but I just don't want them to change random unnecessary things.

The W change is a pretty big nerf. It is extremely hard to chase without it and because you brun W to engage you don't have it to chase. It cripples AD/bruiser eve a lot considering she relies a lot on AA that she can't land. And if you engage a fight that you're losing? you're as good as dead. W will never reset fast enough to use it again to run away and you don't have the MS from W passive anymore to disengage. If she had a faster base MS it wouldn't be as bad...

EDIT: The passive buff at higher level is a nice healthy change.
