About the CDR changes alongside the upcoming Mage Rework
I don't want to get in to anything too severe about a first draft rework of AP items. One thing I've noticed is that we're bringing a lot more CDR options to the table in order to (and I paraphrase Riot here) prevent limiting mages rune options due to needing CDR.
That's great. It's awesome that Mages / APCs will get more CDR options. On that note though, can we please go a bit further?
Can we get one of the new items at 15% CDR, so mages can continue to make use of running 9 scaling CDR glyphs? That set-up has been useless since preseason 6 mastery changes and the change of CDR on lucidity.
Can we get enough strong AP items WITHOUT CDR, to give meaningful tradeoffs to champions who opt to not build CDR in their items?
I like that we're getting CDR options, I really do. I just don't want it to go so far that we have the opposite problem - instead of CDR runes being a necessity they become useless because you'll reach the 40/45% CDR by default even without them. There need to be enough options to let mages consistently get the CDR cap without runes, but simultaneously enough options to let them continue to use these runes and benefit from powerful non-CDR items.
