Just REVERT all of your AHRI changes; do this instead

This pattern of changing the identity of a champion who was in an excellent spot, then nerfing them to the ground because people don't know the new champion, is horrendous.

You want a kite mage? MAKE A NEW ONE. Leave existing champions alone. How many times have I read about Riot saying that when they buff/nerf a champion they want to keep their identity intact? Lucien, Lee Sin, Zed, etc... literally every other time. So why change Ahri's identity? Then after 1 week of a high win rate (which is rapidly dropping as the idiots finally learn to NOT chase her in most circumstances) you decide to nerf her?

Anyways, what you should do?

Re-instate old Ahri - you know, the one with 20% damage amplification on her E. Having this DOESN'T PREVENT HER BEING PLAYED AS A KITE MAGE, it just allows her to stay as an assassin too. Now, if you feel she really needs a buff because DFG was removed (and as a semi-main Ahri, I honestly think she didn't, she was fine without DFG), put a SMALL movement speed boost ON HER W. Make it only last while the foxfires are orbiting her. Problem solved. She can be a kite mage with her W if that's what people want. It prevents her W from being a super boring skill. It buffs her unilaterally without taking anything away, meaning she can stay as an assassin if that's what people want. Any issues with her winning too much? Lower the MS on the W so you DON'T TOUCH THE CHARACTER SHE WAS BEFORE.

Seriously... some things are so simple and yet you pay so many developers so much to just make something complicated that messes it all up.

Wait...but they ARE reverting her rework. They ARE bringing back old Ahri that the original fans have fallen in love with.

This new Ahri is what she's supposed to be. It's what she was upon release. This is exactly what Cassiopeia players would want to have happen to Cassiopeia, to be reverted to her original state with some small changes to make it workable.

She's been as she was with DFG for over a year. Many players have adopted her since she was like that. Ahri assassin was her identity.

Whether changing her to that in the first place was a mistake (was it riot's design value when they made that change, as it was their design value in 5.2) is irrelevant, her identity was solid and she was balanced.

Not to mention, my point was that they can let both playstyle flourish. The change they made kills assassin ahri. Leaving the amp on her e while giving her ms on w would have allowed assassin ahri to remain while kite ahri arrived. And they could be tuned independently, with the ms tuned for kite ahri and the damage amplifier tuned for assassin ahri.

You do realize that Ahri didn't have the damage amp when she was released, so if we revert ALL of her changes she still won't have it
