Why people think Aatrox is bad

A LOT of people think Aatrox is a "Bad" champion, who can't do shit, that he's easily punished or countered. I find the that to be total nonsense. And I think the reasoning for why people think Aatrox is bad is because 99% of people don't know how to play Aatrox. People always go these full lifesteal builds, and trying to cheese there way out of lane by maxing E early and poking the enemy. That is not at all how you play Aatrox; That would be the equivalent of trying to build Tanky on an Adc and expecting to do well.

Let me give a short guide on How To Play: Aatrox

1: Build TANKY first and DAMAGE second; Follow this build in Order item 3068 item 3153 item 3047 item 3065 item 3748 item 3742

  • This build should generally land you in a good spot if you are doing decently in lane; While I opt for things like Rageblade at some point, you should only ever build that if you are very far ahead.

2: Don't all in someone until lvl 6 AND you are ahead

  • To often do I see people all in as Aatrox at early lvls trying to get cheese kills because of his passive, more often then not you're going to die or just drastically lose the trade, its better to just take small trades, farm, heal, and go in for small trades again. Slowly building up your lead to just demolish them at lvl 6 when Aatrox deals a lot.

And thats about it to playing Aatrox, there isn't much to him at all; Which is why it confuses me that people think he's terrible/bad/shit etc. Follow these 2 simple steps and you'll be smashing with Aatrox, he's strong if you just play/build him correctly.

I checked your op.gg . You have only 2 games (wins gg) with Aatrox and you have only 13k mastery points . If your build works for you , than good , play it .

I'll be harsh here , you won 2 games with aatrox . Good for you , but you are only a casual Aatrox player . And tbh , you shouldn't say that Aatrox players build him wrong 'cause you don't have the background .

People are trying to cheese those early kills because this is one of his strengths . If i decide to 1v1 at level 1 or 2 , they know they can win . And if you're saying that every aatrox player that you saw died at early levels , than you should know that they don't know what they're doing .

Just pls , stick to Zed , and don't dare to speak again about Aatrox .

Sorry if I hurt your feelings .

I've played and seen Aatrox enough to know how he works and how you should play him(He's not complicated); Never mind I don't play him often in ranked (He isn't very fun after a couple of games).

Simple champion, easy to figure out and play; I was just giving advice on how to play him from my experience, and how i've seen other people play him.

Also I hate pulling out this card (Since I"m currently not even past Gold III and Plat V), but you're in bronze III and IV..... Any build, strategy etc, works there. You could go full Ap Aatrox and do well. So I wouldn't really trust any experience you've had playing with him nor any builds; Unless you can give me a detailed explanation that works for something better then Bronze.

I see that but any experience in Bronze is worth little to nothing; Due to the fact that people don't how to play at all in that tier of play, like not even a little bit. It sounds incredibly boastful (Since I"m not that of an amazing player), but anything in Bronze goes and works, you don't have very much experience on how Aatrox would fair anywhere above Bronze, since its a completely different game in that Elo from anywhere else.

You may know a lot about him but theres a good chance you have no actual idea how to play if you were to play against any person that was decent at the game. But thats just my opinion, as I've never been in Bronze and only get this information when I play in normals with Bronze players or my Bronze friends.

He is a stat check.

"Are my stats higher than his?"

If yes, he dies. If no, I die.

Problem is you can play Trundle or Olaf to do similar things as aatrox but better. He does okay in a lot of match ups but the amount of out playing you have to do to get ahead is very high for little reward. I liked him and started playing him and out played the enemy Trundle a couple times and was 3/0 and ahead in cs. I got my blood well full, caught him in the river and we both went all in 1 on 1. I used everything including passive, I switched my w at half health, I kited with my ult extra range, and he still won the fight WITH HALF HIS HP LEFT. I gave up on this useless champ right there because nobody with a kit designed for all ins and 1v1 fights should lose an all in 1v1 fight while that far ahead.
