Why is it so many people get Offended or Dislike, Female Champion skins that show a lot of "Skin"

Every single thread ever that I see, about a fan art skin of some sort, that has a Female showing quite a bit of skin.

People see this ^ and somehow get super offended , because it "Objectifies women", well so what? Who gives a crap, I don't ever see anyone complaining about 75% of male champions being half naked with no shirt and all being ripped. Because obviously most real men aren't like that. But that doesn't matter right? BECAUSE ITS A GAME. If people wanna dress up their league character as Slutty Santa Missfortune, so be it, its a video game character , not hurting anyone.

If someone wants to play half Naked Gladiator Draven, well why not? Why should anyone be offended by how video game characters are portrayed.

Its Riot's game after all, and YOU chose to play it, and YOU don't have to buy the skin. So why should you care so much?

I don't mind slutty outfits, in fact I own a bunch of them. But I'd like to see some others that aren't slutty (Captain MF, Project Leona were great!)

All things on moderation I guess. A lot of the skin "ideas" that we see on the forums are bikinis. Come on, you can be a little more creative.

There's a difference between being tasteful and blatant fanservice, and I think it's more about people being tired than actually offended.

And to be honest, that pic seems rather unoffensive to me. One, the swimsuit despite its cleavage cut looks perfectly fine on Ahri (as opposed to, say, if it was a string bikini?), and using Ahri as an example of sexualizing...? Well, she is the vamp. It's in her lore even!

But hey, I don't think Riot's doing too bad lately.

I'm 1) tired of seeing it SO much and EVERYWHERE. 2) I'd like to see it done to men more often, because female gamers exist. I agree. Might as well be honest. There are some exceptions, like the one with Ahri I noted, where a character being the vamp (it's a trope, I could link it if necessary) is just a part of their character. But if there's fanservice for the sake of fanservice, there's no point in beating around the bush.

Out of the billions of multicellular species that currently exist and have ever existed, fertilization based reproduction (eg, there's a male and a female somewhere in the species' biological sexes) severely outnumber the ones that do not. The reason is that it produces the maximum genetic variation with the minimum genetic complication. All the fem-nazis out there screaming that the world is better off without any male humans, because you could technically have asexual human reproduction, and thus justifies their tirade against men and sexualizing women and every problem they can yap about ....

It's not that people get offended. It's that some people are sick of female video game portrayals sacrificing realism and potential bad-ass armor for the sake of eye candy.

Point is, people aren't being all "omg sinners" or "omg I'm so offended." People want more female champion diversity, rather than every human character who isn't Jinx having the exact same slim-but-curvey-and-large-busy build. If it doesn't fit the character, there's no need for excessive skin.

Seriously? The last 2 years, Riot made almost exclusively non-eye candy female champion. Kalista Jinx Lissandra Quinn are the 5 latest human females in the game. None of which are Eye candy. Stop talking about "we need more diversity" because Riot has already taken a 180 degree turn towards that. So much actually, that it almost seems there will never be a non-armored female champion again for a long while.

What is so incredibly important about "eye-candy champions" that they need to become a type of character that must be released every so often? You don't hear people requesting that 'bare chest and biceps dude' become a regular champion type. I thought the whole point of unique and interesting designs is to do something people don't expect, to try things that others won't because they need to meet some quota of "marketability" and "sexiness".

Seriously, PRACTICALLY EVERYONE IN EVERY MEDIA does 'hyper-sexualized female fighters'. It's not that exciting anymore. Its a cliche, it's expected, its lazy. I would much rather have Riot keep making out-of-the-box characters, pushing the boundaries of what people think of when they hear 'female fighter' and just let fanartists make the eye-candy. It doesn't need to be in-game for me to jack off to it.

Generally women who exercise, are attractive, considering there relatively young. And this is the League of Legends, a "fighting" game in a sense, so none of the women can really be fat or old. And if we did make a women fat in this game , I'd suspect there would be HUGE outrage. The most they could do is make an Old Witch lady.

Quinn really isn't. Vi stays pretty well covered up overall. Jinx is hot as hell.

So 2 out of 3 aren't super eye candy. But most of what makes Jinx attractive isn't eye candy either, it's her being crazy....

so I completely see where he is coming from and agree. Lately there has been little to no fanservice for the male audience but they make characters like Braum in that timespan.....and heartseeker Varus....like...at least give me something I can enjoy.

No, not really, quinn to me personally has a fairly masculine look about her that I do not find appealing. If showing a midriff to you is the definition of hot then I honestly think you have to re-evaluate your outlook.

Vi is wearing a spandex suit that accentuates curves. However that doesn't just make her "hot", accentuating ones body type with clothing is a common thing that all genders do and while some people find Neon Strike Vi 'Hot' I would argue that it lies in the cool factor much more than the hot factor, I like the glasses and the effects of the skin, but much prefer the look of officer Vi.

Honestly I just don't think either of those characters are really sexual. The skin you would be able to argue best may be officer, but eh....

If you want to talk about sexual lets get pool party LeBlanc. Now there is something.

Off-note we could just have Bridget from guilty gear and make everyone happy lol.

It's a little worrisome that you think Braum and Heartseeker Varus are supposed to be pleasing to the female eye.

Braum is a caricature that looks ridiculous even when placed beside actual bodybuilders. Everything about him is exaggerated. Heartseeker Varus is an adult Cupid. I honestly find him a little creepy, not at all attractive. I only bought the skin because of the VFX; if it had been a 750 skin with just a model change, no way.

So yeah, I share your sentiments. Give ME something I can enjoy. Chip'N'Dale Yasuo maybe.

Creating a skin or champion entirely with fanservice in mind is a little bit insulting, to all parties involved.

Let me reiterate: dressing a character in a bikini just to have them in a bikini is both lazy and boring. Pool Party Leona's wearing a sarong to mimic the shape of her actual armour, as well as carrying a surfboard for a shield and an umbrella for her sword. That's creativity, even if she's wearing a bikini top.

Using 'it's fantasy, it doesn't have to make sense!' is a good argument when asking why mages can use fire spells when underwater.

My point is that Braum wasn't really created to be eye candy for women, not the fact that his design shouldn't work because derp fantasy.

I saw Cosplay Cass but did not see the 'other skins like Lux'.

I still stand by what I said. Star Guardian Lux was not created to be eye candy, it was created to reference Sailor Moon. I would support a Lolita Jinx if it wasn't made JUST to help you fap.

I think that gamers who play League are used to a lot of eye-candy female characters in a ton of other games (and there are many other games who resort to it much more than League) and so, even if there is less of it in League, they're wary of it. Riot may have made some "normalish" females recently, but the majority of female champions are still super sexualized.

Yes, and all of those champs are amazing and I'm happy to get them, but 5 non-standard females don't negate the several dozen standard ones that came before. While it's certainly better than before, there's still a ways to go before there's some parity between the two. For every Leona Quinn and Sejuani , there's still 2 Syndra Katarina and Akali who are dressed sexually for no real reason.

Also, while Jinx makes up for it by having a non-standard body shape, she's still undeniably eye candy. It's hard to put someone in clothing THAT skimpy and not have her turn out that way.

The mmo Terra is a good example. When a girl wearing full tank armor is nothing more then a armor plated bikini there is something wrong.

People get offended way too easily these days. Those complaining about champions showing skin a lot would most likely get a heart attack whenever they visit their local swimming pool.

It seems as though we're taking more steps away from equality the more society strives to obtain it. From racism to sexism and everything in between. The more we fight for it, the more impossible it becomes. Reason being is that society is "fighting for it" in the worst way possible. I personally think that we should stop using the mentality of "protest" and make it more like "progress" where every little thing getting better is acknowledged more towards the overall goal.

I like to reference a quit smoking ad. One less cigarette is a victory and every victory counts. (I'm not sure if that's the exact quote, but it's the same idea.)

Media really doesn't help. You always here about how some white cop shot a black civilian and then they leave out every detail OR they give immediate details and fail to follow up to possibly admit that the initial details given may or may not have been wrong. Not only that, but you hear every bad thing that ever happens all over the world. What about the guy who gave a homeless person $100 out of simple love for one of the same species?

I am offended by people thinking crap like this. Who in the world has told a woman that her looks are all that matters?! I personally wouldn't marry a woman for just being beautiful. But your logic here is, that if a woman is sexy then she is suddenly an "object" and somehow everything else doesn't matter. You can hardly tell how a woman is like just by looking at a picture of her. I'd defenitely prefer to get to know Ahri, or a woman like her body form and/or beauty, rather than talk to some out of shape/ugly/not as appealing woman. The same way every woman would prefer knowing more about some hot guy rather than some creep. Women sometimes feel insecure about their bodies. That's it. Feminazis just make up terms like the "subject-object" dicotamy, ignoring that you can play that exact same game with anything else, including the "employer-worker" dicotamy and objectification on men being objects.

When a man sees an image like this he doesn't think "Hah, she's just an 'object'! She ain't attractive for shit!", no. He thinks "Damn, she's hot! Wish I could get to know her and...do other things with her."

It's just biological that men find hot girls attractive. If you don't like women like this (tho if you're a straight guy, I highly doubt you don't), then fine, that's your preference. But I'm pretty sure we both prefer a smart and nice lady that looks like that rather than the same personality in an uglier body. That's just biological and saying that it is sexist to acknowledge that men are way more sexually attracted to this image rather to some "normal, serious and uglier" woman is absured. The only problem I have is with Pool Party Leona because how is she supposed to tank without her armor? I mean a mage can wear anything and still cast spells, a marksman can shoot, etc, but for her to be in a bathing suit it just seemed way against her identity.
