Literally anyone with AOE completely denies malzahar of any purpose. The voidlings die on contact to literally anything, so any AOE such as...oh idk...

That's kinda the point though, Voidlings are supposed to be one tapped by most spells if they're being maxed and later in the game since they have a 20% AP on-hit ratio (60% with 3 voidlings, so during ult you're taking 180% AP just from voidlings alone if they aren't killed). For example Heimer E will not oneshot them anymore by level 5-6 I think, if the Heimer is maxing W.
Just be smart enough to wait for them to use their Aoe before casting W
I would love it if his R was just reworked so he could be an actual champion.
