Issues with promo to silver 5, help. :_:

So basically, I took a year long break from Ranked and finally decided to go back at it a while back.

I had no issues with carrying from bronze 5 to the top of bronze 1, and I did it in a fairly short span of time, with a 71% winrate with Singed. However, the closer I get to Silver 5, the larger the skill disparity seems to become. People who are new to ranked, combined with high elo smurfs, who I honestly believe should not be smurfing, but whatever. And due to this, matches seem to snowball and end VERY quickly, first blood tends to be the deciding factor in most games, and because I like to play more lategame champions, I'm often finding myself left behind before I can do anything.

While I used to have the time to farm before roaming from top, now I feel like the other lanes tend to snowball so hard, there's nothing I can do no matter how fed I get or how well I keep up.

Either somebody on my team snowballs and it feels like I have no impact, or it's the other way around.

I might not be the best person for this, considering I'm only Silver 4 at the moment, but I was Gold V last season. I find the absolute most important thing is just to play a select few champions you are best at whenever possible regardless of the possibility of being counterpicked. For example, I play mostly Veigar and Nami who, even when countered, can still be very effective since they are by far my strongest champs. Another thing I do is try to keep people from giving up by saying stupid BS things in the chat like "We've got this late game" and stuff even if it isn't true. I find lots of low elo teams throw very often, and the early game doesn't matter as much as people think it does, unless you had bad luck and got matched against a team of diamond smurfs. The biggest fault of low elo players is that they don't know how to end a match, and therefore there's plenty of opportunities to turn a match around, and often people give up if the early game goes bad and that's why matches tend to get so bad often.

I have been trying to do that. Although I have folded to pressure a couple times. A couple matches ago, my team was really pressuring me to take Xerath against annie, but I got fucking destroyed. I should have just took Karthus or Veigar, who I'm comfortable with.
