ekko's kit doesnt fit into an assasin. he is better tank or assasin.

he rely on his q and passive for dmg, which really isnt enough to 100-0 someone like every other assasin can. and building ap means u are real death if u dont ult.

Woook3r1 votes

u can 100-0. not sure why you think you cant.

The Deckowner3 votes

Lets say U are lv18 Ekko with 600AP(item 3100 item 3285 item 3157 item 3089 item 3135 item 3020 you usually gets less than 600)

passive 190 + 80% AP= 670 Q 120 + 10% AP+280 + 70% AP=880(admit it the second turn of his passive is barely possible to hit when in melee range but i will count u in) E 170 + 20% AP=290 Lich Bane 50%Ap=300 Luden 100+10%AP=160

TOTAL DMG=670+880+290+300+160=2300 Magic Dmg

A lv18 Yasuo (RITO claimed lowest base defensive stats in the game) with item 3053 has 1912 base hp, +400 from item 3053 , easily survived the full combo burst of ekko.

If you cant oneshot the most squishy champion in the entire game who has only 1 item, you don't have enough dmg.

You have only played Ekko 4 times in ranked game this season, you probably don't have a saying here.

Woook3r1 votes

well can anyone assassinate a carry with steracks? Also, you didnt factor thunderlords or masteries in. Probably thats at least another 5%*2k + 240.

The Deckowner1 votes

I did this calculation assuming the Yasuo has 0 MR, which is pretty much impossible. the effect MR has is greater than any mastery. and btw ap ekko with stromraider is better than thunderlord

Which is why you take abyssal on ekko. I think it actually gives me more dmg than void staff, because of the base dmg and lichbane. I know that it what allows me to kill caster minions with one q.

Have you played him much as full ap? What elo? U should try a cdr build (with scaling cdr runes) and play him as a split pushing caster. I might agree with you in that hes not a prototypical league assassin, but I think this makes him a healthier champion.

I think you are right in that his combo can take too long, but 1) he is still playable. 2) Sure, you can argue that Leblanc or Zed do it better, but I would say that Leblanc and Zed do a slightly different thing and the thing that makes the difference isnt healthy for the game.

  1. He is still playable. You need to just stay out of the situations in which you need dmg you dont have. You can easily disengage with a q e combo, or go over a wall with e, or use e on a minon for an escape. Dont let someone all in you if you dont have the dmg to finish the fight. In other words, why are you sticking around for so long? Hit and run. Let your team tank some stuff, then ulti back in for a stun. You are right, he often cant one shot. But he doesnt need to do that to make an impact. Thats what makes him healthy. He can change the outlook of the fight, but he isnt unfair.

  2. Leblanc and Zed will neutralize the adc by killing it, whereas Ekko pacify the adc by dealing so much dmg that it is zoned from doing its job properly. If my team is winning, the effect is the same. We win the fight. However, if my team is loosing, then the result is different. The frontline for their adc is beating ours back and that gives the enemy adc a chance to LS back or just deal some dmg. If the game is tied, then I've given my team the edge, but no more. I think thats healthier and would be happy if more assassins looked like AP Ekko.

I think stormraiders could be the keystone that allows for riot to make more assassins look like ekko.. A fair assassin would be an assassin that can do something to 100-25% the adc and get out without dying because they took stormraiders. If you make it so that assassins dont have the dmg to oneshot at full build (snowballing aside), but you make stormraider give 100% tenacity on a 12 second cooldown, then assassins can sort of start being a pre-engage champion. They hit and run with it and if the game is favoring the assassin's team overall, the fight will go his way. If his team is getting wrecked, then the fight wont go his way. If things are balanced, who knows how it will go, but his team has the advantage.

Its a pretty big change tho. You would have to rework the entire class of assassins so that only they can proc stormraiders effectively, but nerf their overall dmg at the same time and then give them something to do in the next engage. Lower cooldowns maybe. Idk. Difficult to do, but at the same time ekko already does it so it cant be that hard.

The meta is cruel, FAIR ASSASINS = Bad assasins, UNHEALTHY ASSASINS= Good Assasins. assasins like Ekko Talon Shaco aren't as strong as bullshit like Fizz Zed Leblanc because they have a healthy kit that promo counter play while the bullshits are just being bullshit.

Tank fighter ekko is simply a better version of assasin ekko. not saying ap ekko is unplayable, but there are AP mage/assasins who are just better than him like Ahri .

Woook3r1 votes

how is talon healthy or fair? sorry. dont understand that one.

The Deckowner1 votes

1.pink ward fucks him over 2.aoe cc fucks him too 3.most importantly he has 0 escape, his ult is a main part of his burst so he cant use it to escape, once he goes in he usually cant get out. it's fair, you trade your carry for talon who is also a carry. compare that to bullshit like lb and zed they has very safe way of getting ou, has a easier way to get in(lb dash and zed shadow) and there really is no way of catching them during an assasination aside from them making mistake.

Because Scarizard is playing these builds.

Bellows1 votes

fukin scarizard ginger bastard....... bet hes also the reason Sol aint got double tap q.....

He does a lot less damage with those items, he just has more time to deal damage so it works out in a niche

Galatyn Planck1 votes

Building pure damage on any assassin is silly nowadays. There are plenty of items that give both tank/damage stats that allow the player to practically be just as strong as building only damage items.

If your dead your damage is 0. But yes, anyone with high base damage and generally low cooldowns can build like this.

Nameless Voice2 votes

Building a glasscannon assassin: high-risk, high reward (except for a few cases, which are too safe to qualify for truly high risk.) Building a tank-assassin: Low risk, medium-high reward.

I think there's something seriously wrong with that equation.

Leeerzeichen1 votes

Yes, the first one. Full damage ekko is super high risk - medium reward. This is basically why I stopped playing him: it needs so much work to do well with him, that it's just not worth it. Your damage is just to low/delayed.

Woook3r1 votes

his waveclear is second to no other assassin. You arent playing him right.

Leeerzeichen1 votes

I mostly played him jungle, because I don't like midlane that much (if I have to because I didn't get jungle, im still doing pretty well most of the time), so waveclear isn't that important to me compared to jungle sustain (which was a lot better last season). Diana has still better waveclear, with her q, w and passive compared to ekko with his double (single if ahead) q. Actually I played him pretty well, when I was still maining him.

thats because Ekko is not an assassin, anyone with more than half a brain can tell.

also, Talon , Ahri , etc.

KazaJhodo1 votes

%dmg for the win, tank ekko is the shit.

Jaj2ed1 votes

Because it's not worth playing full AP when you can do just as much going full tank.

Nekusen1 votes

rofl, Ekko is the exact opposite of a "mage/assassin" he is a "bruiser/tank", he isn't "burst", he is for sustained damage and resistance.
