mordekaiser Q single target so....

Frius··49 votes·3,551 views

why does it apply 33% ,1/3 effect rilay and spellvamp? Spell vamp is reduced to one-third effectiveness. Rylai's Crystal Scepter will apply a 40% slow for 1 second. Q is single target ,counts as aoe ?aoe was pre rework W is aoe ,low spell vamp and slow effect E aoe ,low spellvamp and slow effect R single target ,working as intended ,normal slow

weird interaction you know, gunblade or wota could have been good , thats like saying vlad Q heals for 33% not 100% with vamp

bugged?

multi-hit spells do not generate full vamp, wota or rylai's AFAIK.

Vlad's is a single-target and single-hit spell while Morde's Q hits three times. I think if it got full bonus off spell draining of any kind it would be too top heavy and would give him far more sustain than he needs.

I don't have numbers to run off-hand but recent experiences lead me to believe that Morde's Q, if it got full juice off any drain, would be able to heal him for a fair portion of his health alone (to say nothing of how easy Morde has it for cooldowns).

Should it have full drain? I'm just making a bunch of assumptions here, but that's the way it looks to me.

At max rank his Q's 4 seconds, assuming he builds 20% spell vamp, disregarding resistances, his third strike would on average heal him for ~300

It wouldn't necessarily "break" him since WotA's sub-par on him now and Gunblade's really damn expensive

But hey, I might just be biased, who knows?

fizz W gives full spell vamp and its a multi-hit effect really morde just lives in a world of double standards.

Sad but true >_>

Sir Fuzzi4 votes

That sounds like Fizz' W should be changed up, not Morde's Q maybe.

I guess it brings to question what 'multi-hit' means as far as Riot is concerned.

Oshlet2 votes

I believe spell vamp applies fully to DOT spells as long as they're single target. Fizz' W technically counts as a single target dot spell applied on each auto whereas morde's q is the single target auto steroids with increasing damage. Thus, healing from it is thirded.

UPfreely1 votes

nvm

Battlecast Sona1 votes

The outrageous part is that with spellvamp being applied fully to each hit, Morde would be able to full heal off of his Q. Please no.

UPfreely2 votes

so he could almost heal like the ranged carries? blasphemy! take this melee ranged, immobile, cc-less scum and keep him bugged forever!

Battlecast Sona1 votes

not a bug. it's a mult-hit ability, so it receives less spellvamp, just like other multihit abilities. Syndra's ultimate gets reduced spellvamp too for the same reason!

UPfreely1 votes

but it's not really a multihit, each hit is single target just like the active on fizz W which receives FULL spellvamp

Battlecast Sona1 votes

fizz W is a DoT. There is only one "hit", and that is the attack that applies the DoT - the rest is the effect of the debuff placed on the target.

Mordekaiser's Q is a multi-hit ability. Each hit is reliant on the hit before it to proc, and they all share 1 CD. Totally different abilities in every way shape and form.

UPfreely1 votes

Fizz W active is flat damage, his W passive is a dot.

Auz the Ripper1 votes

All DoTs apply spellvamp fully as long as the spell itself is single target so Cassiopeia = nope Malzahar = somewhat Brand = yes (his passive is technically single target, despite the fact it can be applied by AoEs)

It's pretty hilarious with brand, watching your health bar regenerate after you land a good pillar. Useless in almost all situations, but hilarious

It's like facebook, someone gives the bullshit explanation of "X gets y so why can't a have b." to prove their obviously flawed statement and people thumbsup/upvote it because "ohh, that sounds good it must be true". In reality Seastone Trident applies a single target DOT (damage over time) and is not a multi-hit effect. Fizz's e should apply full spell vamp in the same way Swain's Torment and Malzahar's Malefic Visions do because they are all single target spells.

There are more champions that live in worlds of double standards, as it has been pointed out recently twitch was nerfed for being too strong early game and never got a compensation buff, and now vayne is but she gets a compensation buff. Riot honestly just hates certain champions.

As much as everyone says they are capable of being unbiased, people inherently have a bias. Note how every time Kayle hits the spotlight she is pretty much instantly nerfed? (Devourer ranged nerfs anyone? Twitch hits the spotlight for a few weeks, nerfed. Where champions like vayne and ezreal are allowed to last for months in the spotlight with very minor to no changes. That is until they are finally nerfed hard enough that people stop playing them. That is also only until riot decides they should be buffed into the spotlight again.

Does anyone remember when champions like urgot had their 2-3 months of most popular play? Well that is because riot doesn't let him be viable like the other champions.

GG balancing team.

Don't forget that at one point Cassiopeia E (Twin Fang) was left at 1/3 SV and rylais for balance reasons. He already has one of the highest winrates without absurd healing on Q, I don't think this is necessary. If anything it would punish tanks who try to cc him and keep him out of the fight if he bought wota.

Akali is SO HOT2 votes

If all 3 auto attacks applied 100% spellvamp he would go from 0 to 100 every single time while 1 shotting you with his 3rd Q

Ralanr1 votes

Because it's magic and attack damage?

Not sure honestly.

Photos of Ghosts1 votes

Wat?

Ralanr1 votes

The Q scales with both AD and AP.

OyddAWqJ5r2 votes

But it deals purely magic damage. Scalings have never affected damage type.

Baron of Bread1 votes

Maybe it is coded as multi-hit for that interaction. I believe that would make it proc at 33%.

Blue Moon Wolf1 votes

That is definitely something Riot should have remembered at the very least when reworking him. He already got the short end of the stick as solokaiser, at the very least they can give him full effects from Items with his Q to give him some help. Good catch.

SouL1ess1 votes

Because the spell does its total damage over three hits, so it's technically a multi-hit spell and is reduced to 33% effectiveness.

Well devourer only applies one hit at a time, not two. His q actually seems like it isn't even treated as an auto attack amplifier like it says it is. Ravenous hydra, and titanic hydra also don't apply all the time on auto attacks while using q.

Ale non è male1 votes

Uhm, if anything Morde Q should not apply spell vamp at all while it should apply only 20% slow as it is considered an auto attach modifier

Unless Spell Vamp definition has not changed, from there

Spell Vamp -- activated abilities that do not state they "apply on-hit effects" or modify your "next basic attack" benefit from spell vamp, those that do apply on-hits/modify your next basic attack benefit from lifesteal

http://forums.na.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=3848328#post41386754

As from Fizz W, If I'm correct his passive apply DoT so full spell vamp and reduced Rylai effectiveness, while his active should not be coded as on-hit or AA modifier but only as stat boost and that's why it should apply full spell vamp and spull rylai effectivenss - even though it pratically act as an on-hit

If I'm wrong, please someone correct me

Something is weird in the coding, I agree thought

Mordekaiser's Q is not getting 100% spellvamp. Mordekaiser's Q is a Single Target spell. Single Target spells receive 100% spellvamp. Why does Mordekaiser's Q not receive 100% spellvamp?

If you want to compare, look at Poppy's Q. Her Q converts her next auto attack and all on-hit effects into a SPELL that deals pure magic damage. Poppy's Q recieves 100% spellvamp. Now imagine when Poppy used Q, her next three auto's used this spell. Effectively, Poppy's Q and Mordekaiser's Q are the same as far as mechanics go. Why does Poppy get 100% spellvamp and Mordekaiser does not?

Whether or not Mordekaiser's Q deals tons of damage, it does not make sense mechanically speaking for his Q to not receive full benefits from spellvamp.
