Watch the first 30 seconds THEN tell me damage creep is a 'myth'

Shaco had 42 magic resist. Shaco sat in the barrel that was fermenting. Gragas had both flat Magic Pen items already bought, was 2 levels up on him, and had a good amount of ap. He was probably dealing true damage to shaco at that point, because he was probably running magic pen in runes/masteries

He has good base damages and was trying to pop a squishy that walked up to him. This really isn't a big deal. It's not like he was just building tank and chunking him; he dedicated his gold to damage so he did damage.

He was up kills, assists, and a massive amount of cs, so he should have been considered a fed damage dealer in shaco's mind. The fault here lies with shaco, because even if he hadn't died to that combo, GRAGAS STILL HAD ULT AND STILL WOULD HAVE KILLED HIM.

Let's put it like this: If you saw an ekko top with 1 kill, 0 deaths, 3 assists, and with a large farm lead, would you try to go solo kill him while your laner was farming? If the answer is yes, damage creep isn't the problem in your games.

What I really can't believe is that the shaco player thought this was a good idea.

Lets follow this old AP Gragas build for skill order

Level 12 AP Gragas (even called out in the chat), with 30 Magic Pen from items, 149 AP, 102 AD We'll assume that the Runes and Masteries are the same as in the build (even if that's not possible now), which gives an additional 8 flat pen and 8% magic pen. That gives a total of 38 flat, 8 percent pen.

Level 10 Shaco, with 42 magic resist, 1499 HP Max, 1200 HP remaining

42 MR becomes 38 after % pen, which becomes 0 after flat pen, so the damage above is listed as true damage.

Gragas did E into Q into W.

Level 4 E: 230 base + 60% AP = 319.4 damage (Shaco would be at 881 HP, 58.7% HP)

Level 5 Q, fully charged: 360 base +90% AP = 494.1 damage (Shaco would be at 386 HP, 25% HP)

At this point, Executioner would kick in for 5% additional damage, as well as Spell Sword, giving 5% AP on the next auto attack:

Level 1 W: Next Auto deals 100% AD + 20 Base + 8% Target's Max Health + 30% AP + 5% AP = 294.07 * 1.05 = 308.77 (Shaco would be at 77 HP, 5% HP)

Total: 1,122.27

Gragas has been able to do the damage shown since patch 4.5. Gragas would have needed 1 extra auto attack to finish of Shaco.
