The most Petty thing i'v seen in a game so far.

Zerenza··43 votes·2,474 views

First, i am the jungler, i was playing Evelynn(since she's my main, preparing for my first true try at climbing by spamming her in norms.)

My bot lane Heimerdinger and Mundo, alright i'm not a jerk i don't say anything, it's norms and i really don't care. I do what i always do, i farm up until 6, gank if i have to. At 6 i was really struggling to find kills, so i went bot lane, ignored heimer as he ran from Taric, run and kill the MF.

Heimer: Eve, hello, help?

But...he lived though, and i got the kill AND i put the enemy ADC behind?

So because of this, he claims i was "Using him as bait." (which i was.) and proceeded to play the rest of the game with his Duo partner, like this.

Eve goes to gank bot lane, Bot lane runs directly under their own tower, completely ignoring the wave and waiting until i leave. Garen and Eve go to gank bot lane, bot lane runs under their own tower and waits until we die or leave. Garen Dies

Mundo: Doesn't feel good does it?

Like what? That's so unbelievably petty XD They did this the whole game, even past Mid Game and Late game, if any one on the team came near them to help and went in, they'd purposely leave.

Kind of sad people just seethe like that and hold a grudge the while game, but because of that, they probably enjoy things less if the little things like that bother them. I was farming once as rengar jungle. My Katarina mid would die continuously to the enemy zed before I had a chance to gank, so she followed my around and tried to steal my camps, typing report rengar in all chat.

Renascent2 votes

Holding grudges like that over little things are undeniably pitiful, but sometimes, we just can't help ourselves. For me particularly, it comes from people making the most unnecessary ping ever: pinging what I'm already doing.

e.g. I've been attacking an enemy tower for a few seconds already, and suddenly I get pinged to take the tower? Peeves me off to no end, and if it gets really persistent, I start not following their pings out of spite. I keep it in normals, because no amount of hatred will keep me from trying in a ranked game, but still.

Gives No Lux6 votes

Riot should disable pings when you're dead. Would save me a shitload of tilt.

Weasel Kensei1 votes

Well durring that time a... "normal" (emotionally stable, not shit for brains asshat) person could use that time to do little else but watch the map and look for even a brief glimpses of the enemy jg his team may miss...

In reality its too often used by petulant salty brats that are 100% certain that you crafted a 3 month long plan to get them killed in a video game, and you just executed if flawlessly and they now must ping their unrelenting rage at you...

Just mute their pings... its all you can do. Maybe report them for harassment, ping spam to annoy you is harassment so you may aw well. Also try to use your pings to help your team when you can when your dead; show them how its done and all that.

ALSO... clever name you got there.

I had the same thing happen to me when i was playing rengar with nocturne top, he fed a kill lvl 2 and then pinged me as I was taking blue buff (started red buff on red team) and then flamed me for not ganking top and for the rest of the game I had to farm top side jg as fast as i could otherwise he would take it.

What in the actual fuck? In high elos the only way to get kills outside of teamfights 90% of the time is to use people as bait. Misplays are generally not super common because people understand their limits better than lower ranks, so the only way to kill someone is to make them think they have a favourable trade when they don't, to bait them in some way. Low HP allies is one of the most common baits.

Zerenza2 votes

Exactly! I may not be High Elo(but i'll definitely try to be) in my opinion, Evelynn(my main) is really REALLY good at setting stuff like that up, she's camo so the enemy might try to 2v1 a champion on your team but in reality it's a 2v2 and eve has burst. A good eve can be right next to someone and they'll never know(which i'm becoming REALLY proficient at, practice makes perfect.)

League players are more fragile than a toothpick and are very easy to get upset over the smallest things

Cavesloth2 votes

Sad part is if they didn't say anything during this Riot will not punish them. And they wonder why their game is a toxic crapshow. I laughed out loud when they claimed this new leveling system and runes being free would bring in new players. Granted they help but they aren't the main barrier to new players. Its the toxic unbreathable atmosphere and the fact that they make a PATHETIC effort to teach you to be competent let alone good. I've never seen a modern game worse at teaching you how to play it.

Weasel Kensei2 votes

Yeah... and if you called them "a shit-headed fucktard" YOU would be punished cause ruining the game is more acceptable than swearing or name calling at people who troll/grief.

Let me grab a response I gave in another thread to the question "Holy crap why isn’t more of the boards this level-headed?!?"

I wrote:

Primarily younger people play this game. Mainly young teens... and that also happens to coincide with the people who regularly have the time and/or inclination to visit forums. Young teens (13-15) are not exactly well known for rationality and "level-headed" discourse or behavior. They tend more towards emotional outburst, and hyperbole. They dole out immature behavior because they are in fact immature.

While there are no absolutes, and some 15 y/o can be a reasonable person, and some 20 y/o a trolling assclown. There is a plurality of poor behavior out of childish people in this game that can be attributed to teenagers.

That is why more of the boards cant be level headed.

Well, you got some of that top shelf immaturity in that game. All you can do is... and Im sorry this is all I can say... all you can do is suck it up and deal with it. Riot decided as long as the swearing name calling and other written trolling is reduced/punished, the griefers can pretty much get a pass. Im not promoting toxic chat, just saying that Riot is too worried about it, and seemingly not even concerned with griefing. No one should have to play with the petty jerks you had on your team. All you can do is report them, then buy a lottery ticket, and break out some wishful thinking cause there have been several topics on how long griefers get to persist before they get punished.

Good luck, hope you dont have more assclowns trying to "teach you a lesson," but griefing to punish someone on their team is the kind of trolling I see all the time.

General Esdeath 2 votes

or don't flame and just ignore them?

Weasel Kensei1 votes

Or let the trolls win... Riots stance... I said thats all you can do. Report, move on.

General Esdeath 3 votes

Reporting them for punishment while getting no reaction out of you isn't winning.

Weasel Kensei2 votes

They dont get punished... youre in fantasy land.

This line from the OPs statement...

Mundo: Doesn't feel good does it?

Isnt caught by the auto detect, so it takes repeated upon repeated games to be ruined by them and people like them. There have been topics about griefers before on here and reddit talking about streamers that stream their griefing. They go dozens of games before getting punished and theyre walking under turrets in multiple lanes, and its entirely possible that it isnt in game reports that get that account they play on banned, but support tickets linking the stream for video evidence that the account is used to grief.

So Im glad you think they get punished, it probably gives you a sense of justice that the world is fair and heroes win and villains fail... but really, casual grifers, doing "light" trolling or violating summoners code stuff, so long as they only grief sometimes they just get away with it.

I see this "oh you did something I didnt like so now Im going to grief to teach you a lesson" kind of trolling in my games all the time. Sometimes its me that offended someoen, sometimes its the jungler who is being targeted, sometimes its the midlaner that solo took a blue buff and now the jungler is pissed as hell and coming to mid to take farm and refuses to gank...

Sometimes its the Heimer Mundo duo bot lane refusing to play with the team cause theyre assholes.

I doubt Im the only person who sees these attemps at retribution in their matches... Iv heared stories from other League players who have seen it also, so I know its fairly common. IF YOU THINK they get punished... you may be right, but it takes a long damn time if it ever even happens. So for howerver long it takes, they win... you get trolled up and down, and all over, troll shit dripping off of your face as they dump on your matches... but if you call them an asshole for it...

General Esdeath 2 votes

And yet we see of people on this board every day punished for inting and trolling...

And that's just the vocal minority! Those reports go to a real person, and they decide. It's slow because they have to watch the video of replays and then adjust the IFS to know when to ban and not ban people.

Again, what use is feeding the troll? Maybe think before you use hate speech in a game with a system that can scan words at a high speed?

Weasel Kensei1 votes

Please show me your proof that a person watches a replay, cause you are in fantasy land, hahaha. Whats the point in feeding you, lol.

General Esdeath 2 votes

Ask Riot Tantram or anyone on the report team in a ticket/e-mail. They explained it when IFS was added in (because a lot of people feared it would never punish anything outside of chat punishments).

Aazzlano1 votes

What about that one Nunu/Yi or whatever player that inted something like 700 ranked games (0% winrate on nunu over ~700 games) and was only banned because someone posted it on Reddit?

Literally play in D5, you'll get trolls in about 80% of your games, for months on end, and they are never punished for it.

General Esdeath 1 votes

That was in Korea, and they don't have a dedicated reporting team because they see it as a test of skill, not saying I agree with them. Ask Cowsep, he's had afk players, inters, hate speech used against him, and nothing happens. And that guy found a bug in the system, where it assumed he just sucked at Nunu, since he wasn't taking a drastic dip in his average scores.

hoyohai1 votes

Griefing is harder to detect than flaming

Weasel Kensei1 votes

Yes it is, thats why I wrote:

hoyohai1 votes

O I'm dumb

Weasel Kensei1 votes

Nah, stuff slips through the cracks, its not like you needed to read my post with the percision of a tiral lawyer or something... I could have wirtten it better.

For the most part the autodetect has significantly reduced or nearly eliminated even the use of racial slurs, homophobic slurs, and inflammatory religious statements. Im fairly pleased about that. The problem is Riot seems to have said "Great toxicity is down in chat... problem solved" and I see as much or even more griefing.

Like I told the OP tho... all I can do is suck it up and deal with it...

two question tho why did you build morolenomicon on evelynn and why did you take zombie ward instead of eyeball collection?

Zerenza5 votes

Testing, it's preseason, i took Morellonomicon because it gives Greivous Wounds and the enemy team had enough life steal/ healing for me to start noticing it.

I like Zombie Ward because when i play evelynn i take vision very seriously, it helps with ganking early, counter ganking and getting picks mid game while also granting vision for my allies.

Usual build though is this.

item 1414 item 3100 item 3117 item 3151 item 3152 /item 3146 (if i'm feeling cheeky) item 3742 (rarely) item 3157 (if i need it)

hmm. how do i say this? like i understand that what you did, did work out but like you said it was mean. if it was mean i probably would have simply just called you out on it but other than that what the people did to you was uncalled for.

that being said my point is that if you do something against someone else don't expect them to react fairly. the person may get back at you worse than you deserve or might treat you fairly. regardless you can't be surprised if someone decides to take action as people react differently to people being mean. thats how people are. people want to get even. so don't be surprised when it happens. lol

Glory ln Death1 votes

Thiadel1 votes

... What are you, five? Mean? Dude, this is a STRATEGIC. GAME. You go for the ADC, if a support gets a kill, it's not a big deal. Whoopdy doo, your "ADC" got killed by the support while THEIR ADC also got put behind in lane. That is called being strategic, not "being mean." Strategies that work out don't warrant "punishments."

I can't believe that people argue like you're doing. THAT'S what's unbelievably childish about this whole damn thread, even moreso than the Heimerdinger and Mundo.

Wow... please stop playing this game at all if that is the sort of childish logic youre working with.

the logic is far from chidlish. if a person punches someone in the face some form of retaliation is warranted. regardless if it is overdone or not. You have to expect some form of it. you shouldn't be surprised if you do something at the expense of others to get backlash. that's my logic.

if you do something against someone always expect them to retaliate.

Weasel Kensei3 votes

It is childish... I cant understand how you think "getting back at people in a video game to teach them a lesson" even when it hurts your chances of winning isnt. It also probably hurts 2-3 other players that dont have any stake in your petty bullshit, but operating on child logic it would be hard to factor that in.

What the actual fuck do you consider childish if "oh yeah, well Ill take my ball and throw the match" isnt?

Punching people in the face? Really... comparing apples to oranges is bullshit in an debate, comparing apples to rocks is what youre doing.

Fine.

Your face punching scenario, here we go... theres you and 4 other people in a car and one person in the back seat with you punches you in the face, so you reach up and fight the driver for the wheel and try to kill everyone in the car to retaliate. Sound stupid? Well its why anyone who understands the way you think doesnt want to be around you; cause given the opportunity you will take yourself and other innocent people down just to spite someone else youre angry with.

Also you either dont play ranked, or hover in the low silvers at best with that kind of acceptance to trolling/griefing cause people trying to climb dont take matches off to grief to teach other people a lesson. I hope you dont ever plan on climbing.

What is there to retaliate against? Baiting people is considered outplaying them. Getting mad because your jungler killed the laner while you successfully ecsape is beyond stupid. Like bronze 6 material.

true it did work out. but that's not how they felt. to them they were used and in a worst case scenario it could have gone bad. you can't just look at it from one side.

like i've said before if i punch someone in the face some form of retaliation is warranted. right? i could get my ass kicked, the person could just cuss me out or simply call the cops. regardless of which is going overboard and which isn't i've done something to provoke the person and i can't expect them to act rationally because of that. my action is what caused the incident so therefore i expect a reaction from them.

Glory ln Death2 votes

Except no one got punched in the face? More like, someone was getting attacked by a regular dude with no weapon and another guy with a gun a little farther away, and a cop shows up and takes out the gunman first. There is no logical reason for Heimer to be upset or feel offended in any way.

bahamut5052 votes

I really don't think that face punching scenario works here, since the Heimer lived, which means he has the chance to farm more, getting farther ahead of MF. Who knows, maybe he even got an assist. You may have some point if the Heimer died, but OP said he didn't. If this is how this Heimer acts when he gets something positive out of a situation like this, Then I can only guess that a few negative situations will get the Heimer banned at some point. At the end of the day, it's just a game and if your (The Heimer) getting this butthurt over small things, then you should probably step away for a little while.

Asudurga1 votes

Wrong board (should be in player behaviour), but yeah, that is petty as fuck.

HauntingTheNet1 votes

I have played exactly 3 ranked matches ever.

One game the top and jungle got pissy with each other before game even started since top didn't think he needed to leash for a Shaco. So Shaco proceeded to sit in top and try to cs steal followed by the equally petty top deciding to deliberately feed the enemy ruining the match for the other three of us. My second game I was a support and was requested by my ADC to run relic shield... but then he absolutely refused to let me get any cs and deliberately sniped my targets even while letting random minions die to minion or turret fire. My third game someone asked someone why he was starting with one Doran's over the other. That person pettily proceeded to sell it and buy the suggested different Doran's. ... Only to sell that and buy a different one. Over and over. Buying nothing but Doran's stuff and reselling it to buy different versions wasting all the gold they earned. For the rest of the match every time I looked they had nothing but Doran's stuff on their character and it was always a different Doran's item.

There is a reason why I have not played any other ranked games since then. Well, that and I would not value my gameplay as all that great in general yet. But the pettiness of players in LoL is not limited to ranked play.

I solo queue'd a normal draft a while back and got randomly placed with a premade group of 4 people all sharing the same club tag. I thought I could maybe get an invite to their discord and we'd be better able to communicate. They proceeded to insult me for asking, insulted me for being given top lane role by the matchmaker as apparently one of them wanted top but didn't get it. I would've offered to trade but he was jungle and it is my worst role so I proceeded to choose stacking Nasus. We get into the game and its proceeding about like you'd expect. The jungler is feeding a bit and between feeds uses /all chat to ask the other team to report Nasus for toxicity - I had never even typed a single thing beyond the "Ooh four of you? Can I get an invite to the discord for communication?" at beginning. So... I had gotten pretty strong with Nasus and had already solo broken 3 towers and was about to start on the enemy base when out of nowhere I see a surrender vote popup. We're winning so I think nothing of it. Then the match ends and I only then realized that their group of 4 had deliberately FF'd even though I was about to win the game for them just because they wanted to troll me or whatever was going on in their insane minds.

Aazzlano1 votes

I play normals once every blue moon, and I deeply, deeply regret it, EVERY single time. Matchmaking is cancer, everyone rages, cries, and afks and with no LP penalty, etc. for losing, nobody cares about the games. Same people who ruin Ranked games, but they are rampant in normals. -_-

Troll for Trump1 votes

Honestly you shouldn't have been using them as bait in the first place.

True they didn't, die, but you were basically using them as a tool.

It's not an excuse for them to throw a pit but using a teammate as bait for a gank is just a dick move

Zerenza2 votes

It's a really good strategy with Evelynn, basically it's really easy for the enemy team to think a gank/ 2v1 is actually a 2v1 when in reality your standing right next to them so it's a 2v2 and they'd never know, your ally might be taking damage but so is the enemy you want to kill. By doing this in bot lane in particular, the support cannot finish off your ally most of the time, and will often chase them down, completely ignoring their fragile backline and resulting in them getting behind by being killed.

Troll for Trump1 votes

That's great for the Eve, but still inconsiderate of the rest of your team, which is what I take issue with. You're using them as tools

Glory ln Death1 votes

Yeah I had a Garen top that was super salty I didn't gank for him. By the way this was only 5 minutes into the game and I just got done successfully ganking mid and bot so I come top.

I end up dying to Teemo and the enemy Noc jungle because Garen just ran back and sat there and said "you should've come earlier". He was at full health. What a baby.

I still ganked for him anyway, though very reluctantly.
